HAUL OF THE MONTH

Sharing you my haul from my favorite online beauty destination, SOCIOLLA.

That pretty little pink box came two days after I ordered online. Super fast service, no hassle at all.

And, this is why we’re so addicted to buy more…another discount coupon.

I purchased three items: EMINA Crème de la Crème Lipstick, MASAMI SHOUKO Angled Shading Brush and ITSY NAILS Luxury Nail Wraps. If you follow my instagram (@shintarosvita) you’ll realized that I will never have enough lipstick in my makeup drawer (LOL). So, I decided to try this local brand lipstick, Emina. And to add to my brushes collection, I need to own a brush to contour my nose, Masami Shouko is very affordable. As for Itsy, I love their collection, as their nail stickers are so practical for those in-between manicure session.

Damage? Rp 128.900 for these 3 items. I know, right? Very affordable and I didn’t even pay for the shipping fee. This is why I love to shop at Sociolla, not only for me, but for gifts as well. Click here to see what’s new and to check out their promotion. Happy Shopping!

DEFINITELY A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER

Christmas is like a few days away. And this 24 HAPPY DAYS from THE BODY SHOP INDONESIA surely brings joy for me.

Wonderfully presented with a bouquet of fresh flowers on top, wait until you see what’s inside!

Like jigsaw boxes with total 25 lovely products from The Body Shop, it was truly a delightful experience of unboxing (see my unboxing timelapse video on my Instagram @shintarosvita). Actually there are 24 individual box seen once it was opened, but inside the number 24 box, there’s box number 25. Surprise, surprise!

And each of the box stated something, like this “Visez l’or” means “Stay Golden”, which thoughtfully got The Body Shop Colour Crush gold eyeshadow inside.

Can we say ‘amen’ to this beautiful quote?

For the rest of the products, voila!

I know, right? Plenty of products (ranging from body care to makeup and tools) to last more than 24 happy days. Sensational gifts for a special Christmas this year, indeed.

If you’re still looking for this year’s Christmas treat, for your loved ones or for yourself, click here. Joyeux Noël!

FOR YOUR EYE (LID) ONLY

image

Makeup melting in the middle of the day is not something unusual in this city I live in. That’s why primer is one of my must have, including this latest product from BENEFIT, AIR PATROL.

Unlike any other eyeshadow primer I’ve tried, this ain’t no ordinary primer or base. Air Patrol is a BB Cream Eyelid Primer that color corrects while protect with broad spectrum SPF 20. Literally one shades fit all, this eyelid primer will guard our delicate eyelid area from sun, smoke & pollutants. So, yes…it color corrects and make our eyeshadows stay longer with the help of their special tip.

image

They called the tip, CushionCalm. At the launching party earlier this month, Benefit Indonesia team showed us how soft yet strong the CushionCalm tip is. Inspired by mattress, no matter how hard we press them, it will go back to its’ natural shape.

image

Claimed to be softer than our own pinkie, it’s also pressure-free..therefore it’ll protect our delicate eyelid from that rubbing & tugging.

Here’s how they look on my eyes (pardon the late nights shown on my dark circles (LOL):

image

Have to be applied on clean eyelids, AIR PATROL did give matte result..as you can see from the pic above. The texture is not too creamy or too runny, very easy to blend either with the tip or with our own finger. Twist the pen applicator twice for each eyelid, dot and spread. That’s how I did it.

I believe the beige yellowish shade blurred the discoloration on my lids. Make sure you don’t put too much to avoid that too yellow shade. And on one of those lazy day, this primer can be used alone without eyeshadow.

image

Can you tell from the pic above?

On the top, I applied Air Patrol before my eyeshadows & liner. Check out how the colors of my eyeshadows popped out more, even my black eyeliner look more intense. It did keep my eyeshadows & liner from creasing and fading in the middle of day, due to hot weather & humidity. Air Patrol is perfect for those who have oily lids like me, as we’re more prone to ‘lose’ eyeshadows easily.

Air Patrol is now available at Benefit Indonesia’s counters.

TRY THIS GLOSS

New from Make Up For Ever: ARTIST PLEXI-GLOSS.

If you follow my Instagram (@shintarosvita), you’ll notice how I love matte lips. I guess, I’m just used to the texture. I dislike everything sticky on my lips, which will make my long hair stuck on my lips when blown by the wind (I bet you ever felt like this too). But….I just love looking at new shades, trying on new texture, I guess that’s just the blogger’s soul inside of me.

Then, there are 35 shades of these Artist Plexi-Gloss. The latest gloss (more to lacquer I may say) from Make Up For Ever. Nudes, Pinks, Corals, Reds, and Black (yes, black!) with Pearl & Solid textures. Just check the bottom of the packaging, the one with the code P after the numbers (P stands for Pearl, by the way) are the one with shimmer.

At the launch event, me and fellow bloggers were given three of Artist Plexi-Gloss to review. And here, I tried two of them, since the third one is transparent, so I’m just gonna use the transparent one on top of the other shades.

Above pic is shade 101 “NUDE BEIGE”. As the name stated, it’s really nude. I recommend to put on lip liner before applying and skip lip balm as it’s already moisturising enough. The texture is really smooth, and the exclusive applicator (named SuperFlex) made it easy to apply in one stroke. If you’re looking for a perfect high gloss nude shade without having to cover your real lip colour with concealer, this shade is the one.

Then I try the second one, 300P “GOLDEN PINK CORAL” below.

Yes, this one is with Pearl. More shimmery and a lot more sheer. You can judge only from the swatch on the back of my hand. The vinyl-like texture is the same with the non Pearl one, with golden sparkle shimmer. And the shade falls more pink than coral (at least on my lips). For extra shine, add the “TRANSPARENT” shade on top.

I can’t feel any scent or taste, so it’s a plus for me. These glosses are the thickest gloss that I’ve ever tried, but I believe that what makes them long wearing (they last even after eating & drinking). Avoid applying too much and you’ll be fine. I also recommend to try the shades first in their store before you buy, as it might look different from the tube once applied on lips. Happy trying!

YOU WILL WANT THIS SHU SHU

image

This collection just touched my soft spot for pop art illustrations.

Paris based accessory and jewelry designer, Yaz Bukey collaborates with Shu Uemura for this super fun makeup collection: Yazbukey for Shu Uemura. From eyeshadows, lipsticks, primer, compact case, palette, false lashes, eyeliner and their best selling cleansing oil, Yaz Bukey not only illustrated the packaging but narrated the whole story of this Spring Collection. Imagine four women with different personalities (hello Carrie Bradshaw and friends!): sexy, smart, romantic and daring. And like a real life situation, each of them didn’t know that they’re each dating the same guy called ShuShu (wait, seriously?). Apparently, ShuShu means ‘darling’ in French, so yeah.. ShuShu – Shu Uemura. Get it?

Yaz Bukey did pick the colors too. And let me tell you, they’re fun and bold, exactly like the packaging.

image

I was invited to the launch event this Saturday and being a lipstick mania, of course I wouldn’t missed to swatch all the lipsticks (there are four of Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte). As the name stated, they come in matte texture. See the swatches below.

image
image

Check out this cool pink Mini Cooper adorned with Yaz’ illustrations and those rubber eyelashes!

Lips are everywhere, but lipsticks are not the only product in this collection as I stated before. There are “I love my Shu Shu Palette”.

image

Mmmm…not a big fan of the palette, as some of them comes in metallics (sorry, I am team matte forever).

image

And the primer to blur out those big pores. Can’t wait to try this.

image

And last but definitely not least, are the cleansing oils, four of them.

What’s missing from this collection in Indonesia? The Nail Colors. Too bad, right? But well, I was surprised to see the almost complete ‘limited edition’ collection here in my home town, as it was a rare situation. Usually we didn’t even get to see any. Seriously.

Better get them soon, ladies as they’re limited edition only for this Spring.

THERE’S A STORY IN EVERY EYES

I can’t go out without my eyeliner. Enough said.

Having big and droopy eyes type, I am comfortable with feline flick aka cat eyes liner. Classic yet tricky technique, some might said. But after lots of years pulling them on, well I can say I’m pretty darn good at this thing. Beside my favorite gel liner, REVLON ColorStay Eye Liner is one of my favorite too. As it claimed, it did stay long and I love how intense their colors are. I always go for black for daily makeup look, but check out these new colors REVLON just launched in Indonesia.

image

New shades are: Sapphire, Jade, Amethyst, Gold and Silver.

They also have this new liquid liner, called ColorStay Skinny Liquid Liner.

image

As the name stated, the brush is really skinny. Very fine with 0.1 mm for that perfect skinny look. Same like the pencils, they are waterproof and long lasting. There are 7 shades available: Blackout, Black Brown, Electric Blue, Green Spark, Amethyst, Gold and Silver. Cost more expensive than the pencil type (Rp 99.000 each while the pencil cost Rp 75.000 each), I found this skinny liner great to apply after fake lashes application. Not to mention, they’re also great for that flick!

Check out the swatches I’ve made on the back on my hand (I’ll update once I put them on my eyes).

image

The thicker ones is the pencil (Sapphire), and the thinner one is the skinny liner (Electric Blue). The pencil ones was more greenish than the skinny liner.

image

The Silver ones are quite intense with shimmer, thought the pencil ones was more intense than the liquid ones. Perfect for party look.

image

Hmmm….purple eyeliner. What do you think? Amethyst is such a pretty color.

image

I have no argument for their Black Eyeliner (pencil form), but judging from the swatch of the Gold Liquid Liner, it wasn’t as intense as the other colors, but as shimmery as the Silver ones.

So, which one is your favorite? They are now available at REVLON’s counter in Indonesia. Go check them out.

LIFE IS FULL OF CHOICES

image

Indeed! Check out the largest range of eyeshadows from MAKE UP FOR EVER, ARTIST SHADOW.

Too much of eyeshadows? Never. As a fellow beauty junkie, you’d agree with me. In Indonesia, they carry 175 shades out of the original 210 that Dany Sanz created to sort of celebrate Make Up For Ever 30th anniversary. Originally created by Dany in 1984, the first Artist Shadow range consists of 100 shades. Went up to 125 in 2013 and this year, 210. Keep in mind that Indonesia only carry 175 shades.

image

With 5 finishes: matte, satiny, iridescent, metallic and diamond, I am spoilt by choices. Oh dear, picking up shades and textures are just too hard for a girl! Then, another choice to be made, the palette. They have three choices, single palette, duo palette and trio palette at the same price (Rp 70.000 each). So, my suggestion, go for the trio ones. Oh by the way, the Artist Shadow costs Rp 220.000 each.

After going back and forth to the display at their flagship store in Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta, I decided to fill my trio palette.

image

As you can see my numbers of choices are: M518 (Nude), S814 (Light Rosewood) and M626 (Neutral Brown). Yup, I decided to go for their matte and satiny textures out of 5 textures available and went neutral. No doubt about the intensity of their colour pigments and their textures are just heavenly smooth like velvet when applied.

image

Swatched on the back of my hand without primer and with one, can you spot the difference?

image

Not much of a difference in the intensity of the shades, right? The first swatch photo is the one without primer, and the last swatch photo is with primer. Usually my eyeshadows shades will pop out more if I use eye primer, but Artist Shadow doesn’t need primer (well, if you want to make it stay longer, I still recommend to apply eye primer).

It was fun to create this trio palette of Artist Shadow, although I admit it was darn hard to pick just three out of 175. I’m proud of my choices, very me and so wearable for everyday staples. I was thinking to use the middle shades on my palette (the rosewood ones) as a blush too. Check out the look harmonized on my face for a lazy Saturday. I love how matte they looked, and I did wear the rosewood shade as a blush.

LOVE AT FIRST TINT

Welcoming the first ever tint in oil lip color on the beauty market, VOLUPTE TINT IN OIL from YSL.

Described as a revolutionary lip color with a lip tint suspended in a deep conditioning oil, truly I was feeling a bit skeptical about this latest invention. I mean, mixing oil with color? Was that even possible? Will the color stick on the lips long enough before that licking temptation? Apparently, nothing is impossible. What you see is the infusion of color with four essential oils to be exact: apricot kernel, coriander fruit, jojoba seed and possiflora seed oil. Using Color Link Infuser technology, it enables the tint particles to dissolve homogenously in the precious oil emulsion.

Another surprising point I found out at their launching event this week at Galeries Lafayette, Jakarta, YSL Beauty Indonesia does carry the total 8 shades available. Priced at Rp 450.000 each, they come in a range of very light to subtly bright colors. If you’re too lazy to swatch, or disgusted to try the testers on the counter due to sanitary reason, just check out the Volupte Codes. Yup. they color matched the ring on the tube with the actual shades inside. IMHO, these are not for those who love intense color on their lips. Nor for those who are looking for long lasting lip color. Their textures are very fluid but emollient enough, they won’t slide and making mess on the lips. Make sure you apply with the ‘Bouche A Bouche’ applicator for more precise & uniform application, though.

I’ve got No 8 (Pink About Me) to try at home. It does look a bit purplish on the applicator, but once applied, it turned baby pink. Awesome! I love the way it turned my lips into a healthier looking one. That luminous shine is unbeatable, feel light on the lips…and believe it or not, it’s not sticky (actually it felt kind of balmy somehow). Now I know what they meant by “this tint will enhance the natural beauty of the lips”. It will look pretty on those who already born with those naturally pigmented lips. For those who are not so lucky, I recommend using their best pair, ROUGE VOLUPTE SHINE Lipstick beforehand.

If you’re looking for more natural healthy glow result without looking too wet, try blotting with tissue. Blot once and you’ll get this similar but less wet look on your lips. This is a great alternative for those who got serious chapped looking lips while wearing those ultra-matte lipstick, or just bored with that one dimension stain. Don’t just buy my words, give this tint a try, and you’ll know how Volupte Tint in Oil will make your lips look prettier.

MY BEAUTY ADVENTURE WITH…

PAC, International high quality premium cosmetic brand, made in Indonesia.

I was given three products to review, their Powder Eye Shadow, Liquid Eyeliner and Lipstick. And my beauty verdicts are:

  • Powder Eye Shadow (No 6/White)
I’m very practical when it comes to makeup, especially on daily basis. So powder eye shadow was never an option for me to purchase. However, this loose eye shadow’s texture is silky and easy to blend. For this particular color, I applied as highlight on brow bones. Don’t over do, as it’s very intense, a bit is enough to give that sparkly glow.
  • Matte Lipstick (Indian Red)
The most usable from all three products that were given to me. When I read the label I was thinking Pantone Color of the Year, Marsala. Apparently, it was more terracotta-ish. I love the earthy tones, perfect shade for day look, as it’s not a bold nude which sometimes can look too pale for me. Don’t be intimidated by the matte texture, it won’t be as drying as you thought, as long as you prep your lips with lip balm. Need to reapply after food & beverage session, though. But I don’t mind at all, this lipstick is so comfortable to use and I like the color very much.
  • Liquid Eyeliner (Bazaar Gold)
Not a big fan of sparkly gold for my eyelids, but maybe for any event that require va va voom look? I applied on the back of my hand, and I found the brush is quite good to create the flick. Always apply primer and wait a couple of seconds for this eyeliner to dry.
