Set like a library, this is exactly what you’ll see if you go to their store in Paris (only smaller). Located at The Papilion Duo, Jakarta, you’ll find range of candles, fragrances, home fragrances and their latest skin & body care. 

Me and fellow press met Estelle Omnès, Diptyque’s Area Manager for Asia Pacific and she shared interesting facts about Diptyque.

  1. Diptyque’s founders: Christiane Gautrot, Desmond Knox-Leet and Yves Coueslant opened their first shop on 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain to display their artsy fabrics & wallpaper designs (the same wallpaper can be seen on this store!)
  2. Candles made them well known at first, but 7 years later, the very first fragrance was launched, L’Eau.
  3. Celebrating 50 years of anniversary, they launched 34, fragrance inspired by their first shop’s scent.
  4. Their best selling fragrance around the world is PHILOSYKOS. It was actually Greece words mean: Fig Tree. It smells wonderful, very fresh!

Last week, I was invited to their private event, and I wandered freely around the ‘house’. They did it in a mall where they actually don’t have Hermès store, and I was surprised to see how colorful and fun the showcase was.

MY HAIR JOURNEY WITH CG210 (PART ONE)

Yesterday, me and fellow beauty bloggers were invited to the launch of the very first haircare product from ABBOTT.

After 6 years of research, they finally launched the breakthrough solution for hair loss management. Named CG210, these spray-on lotion will help those who wish to reduce hair shedding, increase hair thickness, improve healthy hair & promote new healthy hair. Available for men (with mint scent) and women (with blackcurrant scent), CG210 is one breakthrough hair treatment. 

At the event in LOCANDA, Jakarta, they provided hair & scalp check.

Check out mine! Even though I just washed my hair the night before, it showed my very oily scalp. Fortunately, my hair follicles were quite good as one follicle have two and three hair shafts. 

Of course, I wouldn’t miss a chance to try CG210 on spot. Easy & practical to apply, just spray (5-10 sprays to cover entire scalp) & massage (not rub).

At the event, we also learned a lot about hair facts, and how CG210 will help manage our hair loss problem and thicken them. MUST TRY SERUM

One of the best selling products from Korean brand, SULWHASOO now at its’ fourth generation.

Introducing: FIRST CARE ACTIVATING SERUM EX.

This is the fourth generation, as the first one was introduced way back in 1997. The 1997 serum became a huge hit because it changed the skincare routine, with the concept of a ‘boosting essence’ as the first stage of the skincare routine. And this year, SULWHASOO introduced the latest FIRST CARE ACTIVATING SERUM EX, based on a mixture of five precious Asian medicinal herbs (named JAUM Balancing Complex) using PREXtract Process to bring skin back into balance, resulting in a whole new dimension of skin radiance. 

As skin easily get dry due to aging and might effect on the natural radiance of healthy skin, this is the first boosting essence to apply right after cleansing. Yes, you read it right. After facial wash in the morning & evening, apply this serum first, then followed by toner. Koreans do have an unique way of applying their toner, they don’t use cotton pads. Instead, they pour it on the palm and straightly pat on the skin. 

Why serum first then toner? Well…the serum was designed to boost and sort of waking up our skin after cleansing, so after facial wash is supposed to be the right time for the serum to work its’ magic as our skin are clean & ready to absorb any nutrients available. 

Check out the texture. Clear brown color with a very light texture. The scent is milder than the previous First Care Activating Serum, less ginseng-y (if I may say). Of course it absorb so easily onto the skin without leaving any stickiness. It hydrates really well, leaving skin feel smooth and if applied correctly (remember, this first then everything else) will provide a good base for any skincare products that follow. Give this a try, especially if you have dry and dull skin that need to be fixed, asap. 

FACE SLIMMING

I was born with chubby cheeks. What can I say? But now, there are lots of beauty treatment out there to (at least) slim them down.

On a fine Saturday afternoon, I was invited to try CAVITATION & RADIO FREQUENCY treatment at The Clinic Indonesia. Cavitation is an alternative slimming method using ultrasonic to burn fat under our skin. And Radio Frequency or simply called RF is a therapy using radio frequency sonar to tighten sagging skin. 

So, here’s how the combination of both treatment goes:

First, the therapist will clean our skin.

Then, she’ll apply this clear blue gel

The first is Cavitation treatment, using this round flat metal gadget.

It produced a buzzing sound, if you feel irritated, tell the therapist to lower the level (the max is level 5, by the way).

For each cheek, it need 15 minutes of circling and pressing of the Cavitation tool. It can go right down to the chin, too. Perfect to lose that double chin as well. Don’t worry it didn’t produce any pain, it actually felt like facial massage. 

Before moving on to RF treatment, the therapist will remove the left-over gel using wet sponge.

Then, time for RF. Another gel applied, this time it’s clear white gel. 

The tool is different. 4 rollers which will be slightly warm during the treatment. 

The application process is the same. Each cheek needs 15 minutes of circling and pressing motion. Good thing, it didn’t produce any buzzing sound. It’s warm, if you can stand the heat, ask the therapist to heat it up. 

How did it go?

Obviously, the left one is the before pic. My skin felt tighter after the treatment and it did look brighter. 

“Many celebrities are a fan of this instant treatment,” said dr. Felya Sandra Pramita from The Clinic Indonesia. “Because it didn’t leave any mark like injection and you can see instant slimming result.”

FOR THE BEST SUMMER NIGHTS

This is the second version of AQUA VITAE by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, named AQUA VITAE FORTE.

The first version was actually launched two years ago, and this year Francis went stronger. A genderless fragrance with richer and fuller scents of Bergamot & Lemon from Calabria, Cardamom from Guatemala, Cinnamon from Ceylon, East Indian Sandalwood, Mandarin from Sicily, Orange Blossom from Tunisia, Pink Szechuan Pepper, Vetiver from Haiti and Ylang Ylang from Madagascar. 

Inspired by the meeting of water & sun, notes of woody fragrance is what got me the most (could be from the Vetiver and Sandalwood). Unlike the first version which is more citrusy and great for day use, AQUA VITAE FORTE is more a day to night transformation scent. I can imagine wearing this while watching the sunset and enjoying the night after. Very warm and long lasting scent, AQUA VITAE FORTE comes in 70ml Eau De Parfum. 

MATTE, TAKE A BREAK!

After all that matte lipstick saga, it’s refreshing to be back to creamy moisturising lipstick, such as these. 

The latest lipstick collection from ULTIMA II was launched in collaboration with Grazia Indonesia Magazine last month. With fellow bloggers, we were introduced to 15 colors which are all perfect for Asian skin tone, from reds, pinks, corals & mauves. Rich in Vitamin C & E, they glides so easily on the lips, even if you forgot or just simply too lazy to put on lip balm. 

They sent me four shades to try: PLUM, FUCHSIA, SPICE & RASPBERRY.

They’re so creamy, but not sticky or shiny. Surprisingly they are quite long lasting, too. And the best part, they didn’t sit on those lines on the lips. So they did give the impression of young and healthy lips. One thing for sure, do use lip liner beforehand to make sure they stay in place, as creamy lipstick tend to go all over if not applied correctly. If you want a matter look out of these, just blot once. Have fun trying these new lipsticks!
