So my dream bra would have lifting & support purposes but does not add volume, wide sides to cover up side fats, look elegant with delicate laces, but non-irritating for my sensitive skin.
Enter FELANCY FULL SECRET BRA from FELANCY INTIMATE, one of my favorite lingerie brand (they also have comfortable sleeping wear) with premium materials. I am a true believer that the best bra should be supportive, comfortable, and help to enhance our ‘assets’.
Well, these bras ticks all the boxes. Underwired for support, they’re also non-padded, so I believe they’re also great for big busts. Trust me, it’s hard to find a bra that is both comfortable and pretty, but these does just that. Try it yourself, and you may just change your bra wearing experience for the better.
You can purchase these directly from their website https://www.felancy.co.id and use my code SHINTAXFELANCY to get special promo (IDR50K discount for IDR150K purchase).
SIMPLE KIND TO SKIN SOOTHING FACIAL TONER It went MIA for awhile in our local drugstores, but it’s back. Turned out, they changed the old packaging with a new one. An affordable, no-fuss daily toner, with good ingredients like Allantoin, Panthenol, Niacinamide and Chamomile extract. Priced at IDR 99K for a 200ml (and they’re on promos most of the time), it is safe for Fungal Acne and 100% alcohol free.
HIMALAYA HERBALS PURIFYING NEEM FACE WASH Combination of Neem and Turmeric in this affordable face wash are really interesting. Neem to combat acne and turmeric (which is bright orange in real) helps to soothe skin. Even though it’s fungal-acne safe, it does contain sulfate, some allergens and fragrance. Priced at IDR 40K for 100ml.
HIMALAYA HERBALS PURIFYING NEEM MASK It has been a while for me not to use wash-off mask in my skincare routine. However, this fungal-acne safe mask is equally affordable, so I can’t resist to try it. Anyway, it still contains sulfate, fragrance and paraben. Priced at IDR 40K for 100ml. I’ve posted a detailed review about this already, please click here to read.
Thanks to maskne, wash-off mask is making its’ way back to my regime.
All those heat trapped inside a mask for hours, with all that bacteria, carbon dioxide, sweat and oil. Our skin need all the help, and there’s no better way to tackle this maskne problem than with a clay mask. Clay mask is great to purify and draw out impurities that clogged the pores while help to soothe skin inflammation.
Fortunately, I found this affordable (priced at IDR 40K for 100ml) wash off mask. It’s also easily found at local drugstores where I live.
It comes in a plastic flip-top tube, and since the texture is not that thick, it’s very practical, hygienic and mess-free. And talking about the texture, it contains sort of micro beads (you can feel it more when rinsing). But no worries, it surprisingly easy to rinse off.
Key ingredients are neem and turmeric (and I thought it was colored yellow, but it’s apparently dark green). Originally from India, neem has anti-bacterial and astringent properties to help with acne bacterias. Meanwhile, turmeric (in Indonesia we use this to cook yellow rice) will help to reduce acne due to its’ anti-inflammatory quality.
It’s fungal-acne safe, but it still contains paraben, sulfate and quite a strong fragrance. Personally, I don’t really mind the herbal woody scent that lingered around even after rinsing off. But for those who are sensitive to fragrances, you might not like it.
Because of the clay ingredient, obviously our skin would feel a bit tight while waiting for them to completely dry. It’s also a bit tingling for the first five minutes, but when I rinse it off my skin is not red at all. Like any other wash-off masks, I suggest to leave them on to dry (about 15 minutes), then rinse off with warm water.
I use this twice a week, especially after wearing mask for a long time. I found it (somehow) cooling, refreshing and my skin felt really clean afterward. It didn’t aggravate my existing maskne, or triggered my fungal acne prone skin. I do recommend this if you’re still doing your active lifestyle during this global pandemic, because maskne is seriously no joke, especially for those who are already have acne-prone skin like myself.
Tips: just apply on problematic area (pores and acne), then rinse with warm water. Don’t forget to hydrate your skin after.

Ah, a good old AHA. If you’re just starting on AHA, you might want to try this first.
There are different types of AHA, but this one contains Malic Acid (because it derived from apples). For those who have tried different and stronger types of AHA like Glycolic Acid or Lactic Acid, this one by itself might be not enough.
Personally I use this in between my Retinol night, because Retinol alone might not help at removing dead skin cell build-up, especially on the surface. Yes, AHA works on the top layers of skin and it does increase our skin’s sensitivity to the sun (it also might trigger PIH-Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation), so it’s recommended for night time use.
Although it’s categorised as ampoule, the texture is very liquid. And it slightly smells like apple (well, it does contain 79% of apple extract). Good thing about this ampoule, it’s very light, you won’t feel any tingling or burning sensation (it only contains a low dose of AHA-1%).
Treat this as a serum, to be use after toning at night. If you are new to this AHA thing, start using 3 times a week then gradually increase the usage. It’s safe to use daily, if your skin can handle it. And yes, this is safe for Fungal Acne.
What is it? It’s nothing new, actually. I mean, it’s not an innovative method. But I found it joyful to do daily and gets me excited to wash my face. Anything that will gets me excited during this pandemic are very much welcome, thank you. Just like the name said, it is supposedly to be done when our skin is dry. Basically, it’s cleansing with face wash while our skin is completely dry. Meaning, you don’t need to wet your face with water before applying, but still need to rinse afterwards.
Why dry cleansing? It supposedly is the best way to deep cleanse our skin. Imagine all the good ingredients in the face wash are able to work straight on skin. I believe this method is great for pores (so if you have clogged pores problem, read on).
What products do I use? From my own experiences, not every face wash can do this dry cleansing. IMHO, the best face wash that’s perfect for dry cleansing is a cleansing foam. Well, it’s already foamed, so just apply and massage them directly onto your skin. Also, I do recommend a great pH balanced foaming cleanser. Usually what won’t work for dry cleansing is a cleanser with a gel format. Liquid face wash can still do it, but I personally recommend cleansing foam to make our life easier.
PATYKA DETOX CLEANSING FOAM It’s sulfate-free and soap-free. This glides so luxuriously, no kidding!
SEBAMED CLEAR FACE ANTIBACTERIAL CLEANSING FOAM After dry cleansing, I usually leave this on like a mask for 5 minutes.
Does it work? If it doesn’t work, I wouldn’t bother to write this post. Since I’ve started doing this method, I rarely got tiny bumps aka clogged pores. And I notice less dirt and impurities while using toner afterward.
Tips:
Please consult with your dermatologist first before doing this dry cleansing, especially if you have reactive acnes or any skin problems like eczema and such.
For more deep cleansing, try dry cleansing with face cleansing brush (either manual or machine like Foreo or Clarisonic). But don’t do it every day as it may aggravate your skin.
Do dry cleansing for at least one minute, to properly clean the whole face.
Please continue with the next step of skincare routine such as toner and moisturiser. Don’t just wash and go.
Listen to your own skin. Do you need to dry cleanse twice a day, or just once.
Unlike 2in1 products that I don’t trust (like shampoo and conditioner in one), I do believe in double-function face and body care. Especially when they’re fungal acne safe.
Here are some of them that I’ve tried:
VELY VELY PINK CALMING GEL It’s perfect to use after our skin are heated by UV for its’ soothing and cooling purposes. It also contains pink colored microbeads from Calamine powder, that soothes tired & damaged skin. So, the microbeads are mixed with clear gel and will burst once applied onto skin. Not only great for cooling, soothing and moisturizing, this is also good for strengthening skin barrier (thanks to allantoin as one of their ingredients too).
DERMA 365 GENTLE CLEANSER I’m happy that this brand from Australia is now available in my local drugstore. As it is a gentle cleanser for all skin types, it’s mildly soothing and helps to prevent dehydration. For those who are prone to clogged pores like me, no fret, this is non-comedogenic and free from stuffs like soap, colourant, fragrance, paraben, lanolin, mineral oil, SLS and SLES. If you’re having maskne problem, I recommend this gentle cleanser to avoid any irritation on skin. Good luck of finding this on your local Indonesian drugstores, kind of hard to get here.
CETAPHIL MOISTURIZING LOTION Another non-comedogenic moisturizer, lightweight and easy to absorb. It contains six moisturizers, plus vitamin E and B5, for long lasting hydration. Because it comes in a lotion texture, of course it’s heavier than Vely Vely ones. Dryer skin will enjoy this more, and I’m enjoying this as my daily body lotion as I hate fragranced body lotion (especially the ones that smells like fruits) and it contains Macadamia Nut Oil which might not be that great for acne.
