WHY GO PREMIUM?

Earlier this month, me, fellow bloggers & press were invited to the opening of Johnny Andrean Premium Salon at Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Suddenly, the metaphor of economy vs premium economy such in aircrafts’ seats crossed my mind. As you might already knew, premium economy is one level above the economy seats in every angle possible. Bigger seat, better service and of course, more expensive. So does apply to this hair salon and its’ treatment. 

Johnny Andrean Premium salon has Johnny Andrean Treatment Premium using hair products from Japan, Shiseido Professional. They’re offering 5 treatments for different kind of hair problems, using special range from Shiseido Professional. 

1. Anti Hairloss using Adenovital Series (Rp 195.000)
2. Anti Dandruff using Fuente Forte Series (Rp 125.000)
3. Dry & damage using Aqua Intensive Series (Rp 155.000)
4. Smooth using Sleek Liner Series (Rp 155.000)
5. Color using Luminogenic Series (Rp 155.000)

Given voucher at the event, I decided to try this premium treatment while I’m still enjoying my Lebaran’s holiday. Here’s the review!

Instead going to the public area, which is so crowded, I entered a more private room with only 4 seats and 2 hair basins. Nice!

The seats and the hair basins are different from the ones outside. 

I decided to try the anti dandruff treatment, not that I have one, but it’s great for detoxing scalp. Having oily scalp, I need those fresher and cleaner feeling. First step of the treatment: hair wash using Fuente Forte shampoo. Love the minty scent.

Then, the hair massage using Scalp Treatment from Adenovital Series for healthier scalp and hair fall problem. Love the minty tingling feeling on the scalp on this step.

The hair therapist offered me vitamin to apply on the ends of hair, as my hair ends are really dry. 

Moving on to the Ozone machine to make sure the products applied will be well absorbed. FYI, they’re only using this Ozone machine in this premium treatment.

10 minutes inside the Ozone machine, it felt warm at the beginning and breezing cold for the last minute. Final step: hair rinse. Also with warm water at the beginning and cold water at the end. You see, warm water will open hair cuticle and cold water will close them and seal in moisture. One trick to make our hair look shinier & healthier.

Voila! End result: softer and shinier hair with bonus: clean scalp.

READY TO WEAR LIP COLORS

I’m just an ordinary girl who simply loves any kind of lipsticks.

Though lately I have to admit, I am more into liquid lipstick than an ordinary tube of lipstick. Yes, they need more time to put on due to application. But, liquid lipstick stays longer and very pigmented, so it’s perfect for every day wear. And please whoever wants to jump into liquid lipstick mode, always remember to exfoliate and moisturise your lips well. Liquid lipstick doesn’t look great on chappy and dry lips. Period. 

Not a big fan of vampy or any other too dark colors for my lips, I do love red, fuchsia and coral. But for everyday wear, I prefer something more natural, but still ‘there’. More like that ‘no makeup’ makeup look, but for lips. 

I’ve put together lists of my 10 “ready to wear” lip colors (not in particular order):

Colourpop ‘Lumiere’: I love the texture and the slanted tip made it easier to apply in a morning rush. It’s matte and it’s mauve (hello Kylie Jenner’s look!).

LA Girl ‘Dreamy’: Beauty Netizens called this shade a dupe for Lime Crime’s latest ‘Bleached’. Well, maybe so for the shade. But so not for the texture, it’s very tacky, very sticky, need a good hand to apply. 

Colourpop ‘Pinch’: Limited edition color from Rumer Willis collection, this is a very nude shade. Nevertheless, I’m still a big fan of Colourpop’s texture and their Lippie Stix’ shape. 

Gerard ‘1995′: Very old fashioned in packaging (well, it was inspired by the 90′s grunge revival), this is one neutral nudes from Jaclyn Hill’s signature lipstick. Not so matte, more on creamy side, so don’t expect a very pigmented result.

Kat Von D ‘Lolita’: So far the best shade and texture I’ve ever tried. I love the long applicator, somehow it made the application process more easier. I’ll try more shades for sure.

MAC ‘Brave’: I prefer MAC lipstick in satin texture, because the matte one seems to be too drying on my lips. This is a perfect mauve color, glides on well with that vanilla scent. 

NYX ‘Whipped Caviar’: Purchased this online because somehow this shade was affiliated to Kylie Jenner, and of course sold out at NYX’ counter near me. With its’ super affordable price, this is another mauve shade which I love. Another plus points, no scent and no cracking.

LIME CRIME ‘Riot’: When it went viral online at its’ launch, I just gotta have this shade. Very 2015, thanks to its’ Marsala shade (hello, Pantone Color of the year). No wonder Lime Crime is such a success, their texture and longevity are winner!

PAC ‘Indian Red’: Yes, another Marsala shade. Coming from a local Indonesian brand, I was quite surprised when I applied this on. Very good matte texture and the shade stays true. Though it’s not very long lasting, but I won’t mind retouching.

MAKE UP STORE ‘Bittersweet’: Just like its’ name, I hope they created this shade in more pigmented color. Yes, it comes in glossy texture, too light for my liking, as I’m more team matte.

BEYOND LOVELY

I live for the weekend.

And what a weekend indeed, yesterday I received this lovely box from BEYOND INDONESIA. Thanks, gals.

Just look at that cute box, I love how this Korean brand put on cuteness on each and every products they have. 

Inside the box, there are two products: BLOOMING LOVELY MAGNOLIA BODY LOTION & BLOOMING LOVELY MAGNOLIA SHOWER COLOGNE.

And yet again, the packaging had me. Love the illustration! 

So what’s inside the Body Lotion (pink bottle)? Plant Moisturizer. It gives elasticity for the skin without any irritation. I’ve tried other body lotion from BEYOND, and I simply love it. I felt like since it was made in Korea, they understand our Asian skin better. Their body lotion smells soft, not overpowering and their absorbency level are magnificent. They didn’t leave any stickiness behind, which was great for our humid & hot weather here (summer for 365 days). And this BLOOMING LOVELY MAGNOLIA BODY LOTION feels like other BEYOND’s body lotion: refreshing & comfortable on skin. With soft magnolia’s scent, it’s a winner for me! 

Next, BLOOMING LOVELY MAGNOLIA SHOWER COLOGNE. I have to admit that I rarely use body mist. But, this body mist completes the body lotion with the same soft & romantic scent. So, yes…layering! Perfect for spray retouch throughout these never ending summer days. Somehow, it felt cool when sprayed. 

Best part, they’re very affordable. Nothing hit more than Rp 250K. Actually, they have body wash in this range too. If you’re a softy like me, you’ll love this range.

ONLY ONE MINUTE A WEEK

Lately, I have no time for myself. Nor for my hair.

Yes, lots of us took hair for granted. We’re too busy caring for our other part of the body (read: face). Then….hair start falling. Then…we panicked. 

What to do when you have no time to actually relaxing for many hours in a hair salon and do hair spa? Seriously, do we really need hair spa or cream bath treatment to make our hair healthier? Apparently all my questions were answered when me and fellow bloggers were invited to the launch of L’Oreal Paris Hair Mask in Rumah Imam Bonjol, Jakarta. 

PR Manager of L’Oreal Paris Indonesia, Antania Hanjani explained, “All that hair tugging or just too hard scalp massage during your cream bath session, generally will make hair falling condition worst. Yes, maybe you feel more relaxed, but your scalp will get oilier and your hair will fall more.”

I’m surprised to found out that it actually takes just one minute in a week to transform dry and dull looking hair. Complete your hair shampoo and conditioner regimen with L’Oreal Paris Hair Mask, especially if you noticed signs of dryness and damage on your hair (thanks to those processing like coloring, perming or straightening). Yes, it’s an essential part of hair repairing strategy, to boost your hair’s shine and health in just a minute a week. Certainly we can do this, right?

Convenient in a 20ml sachet for one time usage, I chose Smooth Intense Hair Mask which is perfect for my hair condition. I experienced a lot of ‘tangled when wet’ hair moment, so I found it amazing when the hair stylist at the event combed my wet hair so easily!

I love how my hair look super healthy and shiny. They felt bouncier too. I truly believe, this is how any beauty products supposed to be, super affordable, minimal effort with maximal result. Don’t you agree with me?
