GLOW WITH THE FLOW


Some people freaked out about the triple numbers 12.12.12 yesterday. But for Kate Spade’s fashionista fans, it was a perfect time to shop for their latest collection. 

Including me. I was invited to the newly renovated store at Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta. As I remembered, the store remains in the same corner in the luxury mall. Previously, the interior was minimalist, but now, they changed to another concept that they called “New York Girls Apartment”. And what a dreamy ‘apartment’ it will be for many fashionistas. 

Range of colorful bags are neatly place on the white racks and tables full of gifts idea. Very feminine, very playful, yet very Kate Spade. Shots of colors like pink, orange, yellow and green are seen everywhere inside the spacious store, which create a fun delightful atmosphere to shop. 

Currently, Kate Spade Indonesia is having their end of year sale up to 50% off. Don’t miss this chance, as yesterday most of the VIP guests were shopping their hearts out. I also spotted Garance Dore Massie bag on the sale table (it’s at the right corner of the shop if you walk in, by the way). WHAT WENT ON? WHAT WENT ON? 

This is how Dorothy Perkins Indonesia celebrate Kardashian Kollection’s launch.

The dress code is gold and glam. So what better outfit to party than the gold drape dress from Kardashian Kollection that I wore yesterday evening for the event. The beautiful Indonesian celebrities hosts: famous trio singers, B3 (Nola, Cynthia & Widi), actress Wulan Guritno and Carissa Puteri looked stunning with their own choices from the Kollection.

Fashionable party people flocked up in Dorothy Perkins’ store at Grand Indonesia, Jakarta, sipping “Kardashian Kocktails”, and checked out 30 fashion and 8 bags Kollections in store. Reasonably price under Rp 900.000 each, there are some things for everyone, even for real people like me and you.

In Jakarta, Indonesia, the Kardashian Kollection will be exclusively available in Grand Indonesia and Central Park, with 25 pieces sold for each style only. So, you’d better hurry before they sold out.

MY “KOOL” PICKS OF THE DAY

Being one of the lucky Fimelahood girls, I was invited to Dorothy Perkins’s store in Central Park Mall, Jakarta, Indonesia today to see and pick my favorite Kardashian Kollection fashion items.

Thanks to Fimela.com, the lucky Fimelahood girls can have a sneak peek to the ever famous Kardashian Kollection before Dorothy Perkins Indonesia launched the whole Kollection (with the ‘K’, people!) for public on December 6, 2012. I had fun at this “Dress Up Day”, as I got the chance to pick the complete look (minus the shoes and belt). 

As you might already knew, Dorothy Perkins collaborated with the trio K (Kim, Kourtney and Khloe) for this Kollection that truly reflect their personal style. So, expect lots of leopard prints, body con dress, blazer, skinnies, sequins with options like drape dresses, laces and watercolor print. Not too mention, their bags Kollection featured quilted totes, glitter clutches and miniaudiere. 

If you think it sounds too glam for your everyday’s staples, as we might not walk on the red carpet every night, wait until you check out my personal pick from the Kardashian Kollection. I really think that being a mother of two, really connected me in the fashion universe kind of thing, with….Kourtney. I love how Kourtney black skinny jeans really fitted my body and legs so well, unlike other skinnies that tend to be too tight and uncomfortable at the crotch area (ouch). I also chose the black bucket bag with gold studs, just like the one she’s holding on the look book. 

I called my look “Klashing the Prints” (again, with the ‘K’, people!), cause I did mix a sheer printed pussybow blouse with a watercolor print blazer. Finishing the whole look with a Dorothy Perkins gold chain belt and a pair of Dorothy Perkins black pumps, I really do think that every cool urban girl or mom (in my case, ehm) can look so on-trend with this Kollection (which will be in store right here in Jakarta from December 6, 2012). FYI, Dorothy Perkins will have a special launch party event at the exact date, so stay tune to see me in a whole new look by Kardashian Kollection, as I’m already thinking about the outfits to attend the ‘Kool’ Party.

SURVIVING SALE SEASON

How to save without closing your eyes when you passed by their windows. Aha!

My best friend didn’t call me “Shinta-The Power Shopper” for nothing. She knew pretty well that I can shop my heart out in only 30 minutes time…before the store’s closing time. While she came home with one paper bag, I could end up with more than 5 bags from different stores. 

How did I do that? Here’s “The Power Shopper” tips:
– Don’t go to the mall before you know exactly what you need.
– What you need is NOT what you want to buy (this is kind of the difference between Love and Lust, ladies).
– You are allowed to look at other things, too. But strictly hold on to this rule: Look, Touch, Don’t Buy. 
– Don’t let your friend(s) ‘poisoning’ you to buy things that you don’t actually need just because they said it looks good. If they said it looks good, why don’t they buy it for themselves?
– Know your weakness well. Mine will be bags…and shoes. If I ever got my eyes on a certain item, I’ll think immediately about my closet. How many black bags do I have already? How many nude pumps do I have already? Seriously, do you think you need another one of item that you already have? Usually, I’ll aim to other colors or other luxury brands to invest. We all need investment, right? 
– Last but not least: remind yourself that you didn’t pick your money from your money tree at your backyard. Hold on tight to that credit cards. Use it wisely.

FAST & PAINLESS WAY TO GET RID OF DARK CIRCLES

Spare your lunch time to do this treatment and you’ll come back looking fresher than ever. I did.

Look at those dark circles. You can blame it on your hormones, lack of sleep, smoking, or  too much computer related works, but what are you going to do about it rather than complaining? I chose the fast and painless way, for sure. 

One that I’ve tried was ACT (Advanced Cells Therapy) for Dark Circles from Euroskinlab, one of the beauty clinic in Jakarta. This treatment is specifically designed for those who have serious dark circles problem, for only 45 minutes duration. The whole process is just like standard facial (cleansing, scrubbing, massage) with extra pressure massage on the eyes area (with special eyes serum). Then, the therapist will use the ACT machine with a spiral movement under both eyes. It was painless, even though the machine uses electricity for power. I actually enjoyed those vibrating feeling under my eyes for about 15 minutes.

“If we use eye cream or serum every day with our own hands, the absorption of the product will be very minimal (about 100 daltons-that’s molecules). But with the help of ACT, we’re expecting 1.5 to 3 million daltons per treatment,” explains dr. Riska from Euroskinlab. I did this once, and can you spot the difference from my eyes pictures above? The dark circles were slightly faded, even the whole skin was looking brighter. They said the result will last longer after 5 to 6 treatments (once weekly), depending on how dark your circles are.

EFFORTLESS WAY TO BODY SHAPING

Are those trips to the gym and suffering diets really don’t work anymore? Time to change your training to eliminate those flabby tummy, now!

Why did I say effortless? Because I tried it and I rarely sweat or feel super tired. Hypoxi is a simple 30 minutes workout that combine alternating high and low pressure with exercise to help target fat in the areas that won’t budge. Dr Norbert Egger, the Austrian scientist behind Hypoxi invention, spent many years working in the weight loss industry. He noticed that many women struggled to reduce fat in their problems areas, such as stomach, hips, buttocks and thighs despite regular exercise and healthy diet. As a sport scientist, he knew that good circulation and exercise are critical to achieve weight loss in a specific area. So, he created a fast and sustainable weight loss treatment, that claim to be up to 3 times more effective than regular training for targeted fat loss. 

So I decided to give Hypoxi a go. First, consultation and measuring. They will ask you about your body shaping target, measuring and decide which machine to use (they have different devices to suit our needs). I’ve got the size ’S’ machine, which target on my lower body part only. Later, I’ll have my own sort of Private Trainer (PT) who’s in charge to put on my corset like attire (which look like a futuristic tutu skirt for me), before I got inside the pod. She said, it’ll shrink and bloat while I pedal, giving pressure to the tummy area only. She also attached two more things, to measure body temperature and heart beat while I train. Then, my PT set the RPM according to my body weight and height, and she told me to pedal below my pulse rate (125). Then, all I have to do is sit inside the pod and pedal my way until 30 minutes is up.

I didn’t sweat much during the training, and my PT said it’s totally normal. She also suggested, before any training in Hypoxi studio, eat carbohydrate two hours before. Then, 4 hours after the training, we’re suggested not to eat any carbo, stick to protein, no fried food and no sugar drinks. 

Since this was my first session, I have 11 more to go if I want to see great result. My PT said, three times a week will be good for me. She only suggested not to train if I have serious abdominal pain while having my monthly period. I’ll keep you posted on how many inch I lost after my 12 session, so stay tune.

HIGH DEGREE OF COLORS SATURATION

To introduce their latest products, Vivid Shine Eyeshadows and Vivid Shine Lipstick, Estee Lauder Indonesia did a beauty workshop today for their VIP customers.

I was also invited to attend and got a chance to color play with Leo Wong, Estee Lauder Chief Makeup Artist from Hong Kong. Leo did remind me of K-Pop artist, but he actually has been around makeup world for more than 10 years. “I’ve been around a lot, Korea, Japan, France, so every makeup needs are different in each. I can see that Indonesian ladies are more daring to wear bold colors for their eyes, therefore this latest range, Vivid Shine will fill their needs just fine,” said Leo.

In Bimasena lobby lounge, The Dharmawangsa, Jakarta, Estee Lauder Indonesia’s VIP customers were spoilt with choices of signature services (quick cleanse & make over), skin care & makeup consultation with Leo and Estee Lauder Indonesia’s beauty advisors, Facial, Nail Art and all those special offers hard to be missed (like the red Ultimate Color bag seen above, which consists of Rp 6millions items-sold for Rp 1.8millions only).

And lucky me, Estee Lauder Indonesia’s team offered me to be the model for Leo’s make over. But before the make over session, I had a chance to talk to Leo about next year’s trend. He answered, “Aqua colors, soft blue and soft green for eyes. All natural colors, with nude lips and good skin. We at Estee Lauder always believe that good makeup come from great skin, so we have to take care of our skin the correct way, before putting on any makeup." 

As Leo worked his magic on my face, firstly he did half the face, so the audience will get a pretty good idea of the before & after look. I believe this Fall, Estee Lauder and Tom Pecheux wants us to play with bolder colors, like purple and mauve which Leo also used for my makeup. Sparkling, shiny with more intense color, that’s what Vivid Shine New Pure Color is all about.

Leo also shared a lot of tips to the audiences while he was doing my makeup. 

  • Concealer is also good for eyes primer, mix it with your eye cream and pat lightly.
  • Never ever put on so many loose powder on your brush, just roll the brush inside the pot then roll the brush using the side of the brush (not the tip) on your face. With this trick you won’t be splattering loose powder on your clothes.
  • For day look, there’s no need to highlight, as the look might seem to strong. Stick to blush on.
  • Need to contour? Pick one or two levels of foundation darker than your skin tone. 

BRING JOY, BLISS & SPARKLE TO THIS YEAR’S CHRISTMAS

What other ways to feel the Christmas spirit then to layer ourself in Christmas scents?

Well, the celebration aura has already kicked off at The Body Shop Indonesia. I was invited to their press event at the atrium of Mall Taman Anggrek, Jakarta, Indonesia this afternoon. In the middle of the mall, they built up sort of mini Christmas ‘market’, such a joyful journey full with gifts ideas, free make over counter and free gift wrapping. The best part of all, they’re on sale. How about that? For sure, I won’t be running out of festive make up ideas and Christmas presents idea this year as they have so many choices, almost for anyone in the family. 

At the press event, Ratu Maulia Ommaya, PR & Social Media Manager The Body Shop Indonesia said, that gift is one of the important part of Christmas celebration, and it won’t be hard to find something right for your loved ones. Especially at the Give Joy event, which will be celebrated at Mal Taman Anggrek, Jakarta, Indonesia until November 25, 2012. This time (until February 2013), The Body Shop Indonesia will donate Rp 5000 for each Mixed Shower Gift Tube, Born Lippy Gift or Body Butter Gift Lollypop sold for children’s health in Papua cooperating with Wahana Visi Indonesia, partner of World Vision in Indonesia.

Being so thoughtful, fellow media friends and bloggers were taught by Nadia Susanti, The Body Shop Indonesia’s make up artist on how to do festive make up. She said that festive means glam and shimmering make up, and The Body Shop named it “Rock Some Sparkle”. Modeled by Alena, Indonesian’s singer, she focused on Alena’s eyes to bring some serious green sparkle to achieve a perfect glow for night look. Alena was happy to see how the color of her eyeshadows turned so intense. She said, “I must have this Baked To Last for my stage performance. I like the boldness of this green color.” And for those who has the time and creativity to spare to wrap gifts, Ineke Turangan, Gift Parcel Expert from Newline was also at the press event to share her knowledge. The Body Shop Indonesia was kindly enough to give extra gift away for press who did the best Christmas wrapping. And of course, as a non DIY person as I’ve ever been, I didn’t win. Haha. And the highlight of the press event was the launch of The Body Shop Christmas Limited Edition 2012. There are three range for this year’s collection. The ever popular Cranberry Joy range is back, with different packaging adorned with snow flakes and sparkles. Check out the new range Vanilla Bliss and Ginger Sparkle, each with interesting notes. Sold separately and in a super adorable gift box (Ginger Bread Man is so cute, don’t you think?), they come in variants of shower gel, body butter, body polish and lip dome (for Cranberry, they have shimmer lotion, hand cream and heart soap). Better hurry to get and wrap them up as early as possible. I personally dislike queuing up just to wrap Christmas gift. 

A WINNER’S DELIGHT

I went to Gandaria City, one of the big mall in South Jakarta, near where I live, to pick up my prize at Mango’s store. Browsed around the internet previously before I came by to the store, I saw most of the new arrival items online are available too. 

And finally I’ve decided to pick up two in trend color for fall 2012, oxblood. As spooky it might sound, oxblood is really dramatic yet sultry in a luxe way. I believe oxblood will effortlessly mix into any wardrobe. Of course, there are a lot of oxblood color in the store, from skinny pants to dresses, but I’ve decided to pick two items with a touch of oxblood. A grey boxy top with touch of oxblood on the sleeves, and a two tone shoulder bag embellished with metallic applications. I’ll share you how I mix match the two items soon. Stay tune.
