SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAMOND?

A perfect year for you and your gadgets to shine.

Warning: it doesn’t come cheap. This Mac is a polished 24 carats gold, encrusted with diamonds. 

A company named Computer Choppers known for customizing Apple products and any computer or electronic items. They’ll beautify your gadgets with precious metals and stones, if you have extra money to spare. Not only gold and diamond, they have lots to offer like rose gold and platinum. They can create customized engraving too, if you wish. The company is based in the US, but they do ship internationally. Interested?

CLEANING IS EVERYTHING

For me, my makeup tools are my investment, just like my bags..(OK) and shoes. LOL. I do take care of them regularly. Do you?

Seriously, how often do you clean your makeup tools? Me, I do it once a week. One, they’re not cheap and I want them to live as long as me. And… I can’t bare to imagine those bacteria and oils transmitted on the brushes and sponge.

My favorite cleanser is probably the most affordable and most loved by bloggers : Daiso Detergent for puff and sponge. In Singapore (when I bought it), it only cost two dollars. So cheap, yet so effective and hard to get (mostly sold out). Not only removing any makeup build-ups on sponge and puff like it said on the packaging label, but it’s great for brush as well. Though I wish it smell nicer (like baby powder, maybe?) instead of just scentless, but for two dollars a pop, I’ll keep my lips tight for now.

This is how I clean my makeup tools with the detergent.

–       Pour warm (not hot) water inside a small bucket and stir a bit of the detergent until creating bubbles. Don’t expect any extravagant bubbles, though.

–       Dip inside all the makeup tools, leaving the handles on top.

–       Soak for 5 minutes, stir until you see the water color changed from clear to yucky.

–       Wash under clear warm running water until clean perfectly.

TIPS :

– Wash at night. Put them on a clean dry towel to absorb any wetness and let them air dry. Make sure it’s totally dry before you use them, or else they might smell.

– Another best cleanser for makeup tools (especially brushes), is baby shampoo. It’ll keep the softness and suppleness of the brushes.

 

 

WHY SHOULD WOMEN HAVE ALL THE FUN?

But, would you let your man wear leggings like you?

Nothing is impossible, especially in the fashion world. Maybe inspired by Robin Hood, the men in tights himself or simply by us, women, male leggings (meggings) are excepted to follow the skinny jeans trend for men.

In UK, retailers like Uniqlo and Selfridges are already selling meggings. Even Givenchy (see pictures above) have them. 

Based on my own experience, I believe they are more comfortable than skinny jeans. But  are the men confident enough to slip these on? Or do you think that meggings are supposed to be worn only by ballet dancers, runway models and celebs like Russell Brand? 

WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING  

As years gone by, I learned the importance of having the right night skin care. 

I’ve tried more than my fair share of night creams and serums, but my my my…it was so hard to find the right one. I want it light, non greasy, absorb immediately, yet effective and proven overnight without causing redness or worst..breakouts. A lot to ask, right? And I finally found: Make Up Store Hydra Night.

One of the skin care line from the Sweden’s beauty brand, exactly did what I wanted in a night cream. Simply called Hydra Night, don’t be fooled by its’ simple and chic dark packaging that looks like a cream jar. It’ a pump, which I thought is better and more practical, rather than you have to clean spatula after each used. Who has the time to do that, anyway?

I love the velvety texture, can’t explain it, but it seems like a mixture of cream and lotion. And the scent is not overpowering (some night creams are so harsh it made me hard to sleep), smell more vanilla-ish than flower-ish. The absorption is very good, and it didn’t leave any sticky or (worst) oily feeling. Applied on cleansed skin at night (two times pumped for the whole face), I believe it made my skin look more toned and very well hydrated (after that Air Condition blasted for more than 8 hours). When I used it on the back of my hands, they also feel soft and look rosy. It’s my current favorite night cream, I may say.

BEAUTY REVAMP

Never a better timing, no?

My first blog for 2013. I’m going to share my attempt for beauty revamp. This is not a beauty resolution, just a slightly different products changing.

So, what changed?

Powder Foundation to BB Cream
I used to love all the coverage that Powder Foundation gave me, but lately BB Cream feels a lot lighter. Not to mention, the final glowing result after BB Cream absorbed and adjusting to my skin, it’s fantastic. From now, I only use Powder Foundation only for special occasion, if I need more coverage.
My pick : KIEHL’S ACTIVELY CORRECTING & BEAUTIFYING BB CREAM (which will be launch this year in Indonesia-thanks for Kiehl’s Indonesia for letting me tried it before launching date).

Lipstick to Jumbo Lip Pencil
Or Lip Crayon or whatever they called it. I love how effortless it is to line and fill lipstick in the same time. No more wrong outline lips, especially if you’re bright lipstick fans like me.

Nail Polish to Nail Stickers
My hero when I’m too lazy to wait for ordinary nail polish to dry. Might be tacky for first timer, but when you got the hang of them, you’ll become a nail stickers master. Warning: it might chipped easily, but for me it’s perfect. I never put on nail polish for more than 3 days anyway, to avoid dullness and yellow looking nails.

Loose Powder to Mineral Powder
Lately I’ve noticed redness around my nose. Ordinary loose powder won’t do the trick to reduce them, so I switched. Mineral powder, especially the ones created especially to reduce redness seem to work for me now. No retouching required and it doesn’t crack when I smile, so perfect!
