BRINGING BACK CORRESPONDENCE TO LIFE

Perfect gift for Christmas…for those who still opt for the classic kind of pen and paper.

Louis Vuitton expanded to writing and paper products range which will debut on December 13, at their temporary boutique in France. Stationery such as pencils, pens, crystallized ink pot, they will retail between US$44.50 up to $2.220.

This line also include (what LV claims) the first patented innovations in fountain pens since 1953, which protects cartridges from pressure changes due to air travel and prevents leakage whatever your writing conditions.

ANYONE CAN GET DRESSED UP AND GLAMOROUS BUT IT IS HOW PEOPLE DRESS IN THEIR DAYS OFF THAT ARE THE MOST INTRIGUING

LET THE MAESTRO TAKE CARE OF YOUR LIPS

Could liquid lipstick be the next generation of lip color?

Giorgio Armani Cosmetics introduces 12 shades of intense and lightweight LIP MAESTRO. The classic formulas have been reinvented for a flawless matte finish that’s never dry. Definitely more radiant than a matte lipstick and more sophisticated than ordinary gloss. It also promised to deliver a luxurious and velvety texture to create 4D volume, thus making lips look more hydrated with no make up feel.

If you’re looking for a matte finish with intense color, yet comfortable to wear, be ready to spare US$32 for one Lip Maestro.

STYLING MYSELF

I can see why Kate Moss was picked to be the star of Mango’s ads. Her personal style reflected through her super ability to mix and match in the higher level. And personally, I believe in the power of styling yourself, just because you know yourself better than anyone.

And I found Mango, one of my favorite brand, to be so easy to mix and match with. Last month, I went to one their store in Jakarta, and stumbled upon this contest announcement, MANGO Style Up Yourself Contest 2012. That time, I was looking for more printed pants to add up to my collection, and I remembered I’ve tried many (yup, they do have plenty of printed pants in the store) before ended up buying two pairs and a plus one, an embellished sweater (that’s what I called out of plan).

So I put together my Mango paisley printed pants from the current collection, mixed matched with my own white peplum top+stacked bracelets+ankle booties+socks, Mango necklace + scarfs, LV Alma bag & Ray-Ban shades. I thought, here we go… if I won the contest, they will give out vouchers, reason for me to shop for more Mango. And guess what? I won the 1st favorite winner of Mango Style Up Yourself Contest 2012. Yeay!

Gotta go now to spend the voucher and stay tune for more Mango styling by me! Special thanks for Mango Indonesia’s team.

SURPRISE YOUR CHRISTMAS PARTY GUESTS

And make their trip to the loo much more interesting by using this colored toilet papers.

Don’t you just love innovations? Renova is already a big hit in Europe for years, showing us that toilet papers doesn’t have to be boring.

The colors is made of 100% biodegradable, virgin pulp and it is entirely recyclable. They only uses ECF (Elementary Chlorine Free) and TCF (Totally Chlorine Free) pulps and has been tested under dermatological and gynecological control. Don’t worry, it’s also non toxic and doesn’t bleed any color when wet (so the black color won’t stain your ***).

Dress up your bathroom, ready for Christmas, with choices of vibrant colors to match your decor, just because your bathroom also says a lot about the host.

BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO COMPETE WITH THE CHRISTMAS TREE

The secret to a successful Christmas Party Dress is to keep it as humble as possible, as polite as possible but still as stunning as you can be. Read on.

For those of you who always feel pressured to pick the right Christmas Party Dress, don’t be. Yes, there are lots of choices out there, but here’s how:

– Details : Asymmetric line will give a modern touch to the whole look.

– Fabrics : Stay out of cotton which screams b.o.r.i.n.g. Instead, opt for lace, chiffon, silk or anything in between that say c.o.u.t.u.r.e.

– Colors : Black is fine if you’re comfortable with the slimming effect, but try another color for the sake of Christmas. The latest color, teal, will also give similar slimming effect plus a lady like look. Or go for metallic, it is time to shine subtly.

– Length : Keep yourself free of stares for wearing mini dress. Especially, if you have to visit older (read: parents or in-laws) relatives. Knee length is the best choice, anyway, it’s easier to sit without having to pull your dress all night (it’s not a nice gesture, ladies).

– Fit : Put a rest on your body-con dress. This is not the right time to put it on. Loose dress is also a big no-no’s, as you might look sloppy and unprepared. Choose a fit to your body dress, which will give a sophisticated look, and still comfortable to wear. Remember all those Christmas menus that we have to consume later, though.

WONDERFUL JOURNEY OF AROMAS

From Provence at South of France, Morocco, Uganda to Japan. The latest scented body collection from Kiehl’s brought us a sensorial trip around the world.

Yesterday, I was invited to attend the launch of Kiehl’s Aromatic Blends in Bird Cage, one of the lavish cafe in Jakarta. A perfect ambience to represent the body collection with an inspiring fragrance blends. The sitting down luncheon with fellow medias and beauty bloggers were full of information and fun, as we were given a chance to create our own fragrances inspired by one of the series from the Aromatic Blends, Orange Flower & Lychee (more on that fragrance making, here: https://www.facebook.com/shintarosvitatumblr).

Jennifer R. Avancena (Brand Manager Kiehl’s Indonesia) made the first presentation, briefly about Kiehl’s that has been around since 1851, the upcoming holiday collection (limited edition set from Kenny Scharf and the ‘Squirt’ figurine) and what they’ll be launching next quarter (BB cream and Clarifying Cream).

Then, Dyah Fitrisally (Product Manager Kiehl’s Indonesia) presented the four collections from Aromatic Blends, Fig Leaf & Sage, Nashi Blossom & Pink Grapefruit, Orange Flower & Lychee, Vanilla & Cedarwood. She explained that each scent carried in the trio products (Aromatic Mist, Skin-Softening Body Lotion and Skin-Softening Body Cleanser) was formulated with fewer ingredients which were found in traditional fragrances. Two unique key ingredients created a pure aroma which perfectly represent the company’s apothecary heritage. She also mentioned that the Body Lotion were inspired by the iconic Kiehl’s Creme de Corps, which is proven to deliver hydration throughout the day.

Each collection has a unique sourcing location and inspiration from around the world. Ingredients like Orange Flower, Pink Grapefruit and Sage essential oil were captured on-site directly after harvesting by a natural ingredient extraction, using steamed water to deliver their freshest and strongest aromas. Vanilla and Cedarwood were harvested from sustainable sourcing to support local community. And the most interesting approach is Aromatic Reproduction. They used this technique to recreate the scent without destroying the real plants and to mimic the real aromas of Lychee, Nashi Blossom and Fig Leaf.

This new family of products really suit the overall Kiehl’s apothecary heritage (hello New York!), right down to the packaging. Perfect for those who opted to wear layering body care products for everyday use. All you have to do is pick your favorite line out of four. Yes, it’s that simple.

THE BEST THING IS TO LOOK NATURAL, BUT IT TAKES MAKEUP TO LOOK NATURAL

A GLIMPSE FROM JAKARTA FASHION WEEK 2013: CLOSING SHOW AT IKAT INDONESIA BY DIDIET MAULANA

Jakarta’s very own fashionistas were flocked together for the closing show. The IT crowds were eager to see Ikat Indonesia’s Spring Summer 2013 collection named “Romantika Mentari”.
Andien, one of Indonesia’s famous singer, opened the show with a glamorous tenun gown. It looked complex, just like what Didiet said before in the press conference. “It was a bit difficult to create this collection, because I used the tenun materials from Makassar which known to be fragile. Usually for 10 meters of fabrics, I can make three clothes, but for this kind of material, I can only make one.”
As his mission to make Indonesia’s younger generation to be more aware of our own tradition and culture, Didiet’s designs did just that. Wearable clothes, modern styling with traditional fabrics and touches could be the perfect recipe to attract more young customers to his line.
