RECOMMENDED TREATMENT FOR AGING/MATURE SKIN

Sagging here and there. The power of nature and its’ gravity ability.
But thanks to all the innovations in the beauty industry, now we all have choices to treat these problems.
Disclaimer: I’m not against aging, it’s a privilege to age, but I do feel good if I look in the mirror and see improvements on my appearance. You do you, ok?
1. PEELING

More pros than cons for PEELING treatment: it was one of the quickest treatment, no numbing cream involved, significant result in just one go, no harsh skin flaking. Please don’t do this yourself at home, I was recommended by my derm to use double peel of Salicylic Acid and TCA 20%. This is a monthly treatment, and it won’t break the bank. Make sure you visit a legit beauty clinic.

2. EYELINER EMBROIDERY

A good friend recommended me to do this treatment, when I had a botch botox treatment earlier this year which caused me droopier eyelids. I wish I did this sooner, as EYELINER EMBROIDERY gave me not just the practicality of “I woke up like this” set of eyes, but also that optical illusion of more lifted eyes. The treatment was not painful at all, it felt like a stroke of hard brush and it only took me three days to completely heal (might vary to different eyes). Downtime involving swollen lids (as seen above), but mine was pretty manageable, so I’m very happy with the final result.
FYI, I did mine at Anggie Rassly Beauty Studio with the master, Rassty Raswanty.

3. LASH LIFT & LASH TINT

Still talking about eyes, to complement the embroidery, I did Brow Lift, Lash Lift and Lash Tint at the same beauty studio mentioned above. Thankfully, I do have long lashes already (but they were straight before), they desperately need a curl and more color definition in order to stand out. The whole process took about an hour, and I’m glad I did these because they really cut down my morning makeup routine.

4. REJURAN S

Last but definitely not least: REJURAN S. I have to admit, I was skeptical due to the conversations on the internet about the pain of this treatment. Bite the bullet, to be free of acne scars and textured skin. I was doubting between this treatment and laser, but knowing that recovery/down time for this is faster (within 48 hours), I decided to go under the injection. Not just great for superficial acne scars, it also helps to stimulate skin cells to produce collagen. Numbing cream applied pre-treatment, but do expect a bit of pain during subcision.
I did mine at AMALA CLINIC, more updates on my skin condition coming soon as I just had this treatment yesterday.

ELECTROCAUTERY 2.0: Wounds & Post Treatment

As you probably know already, milia and syringoma are genetic. Both are harmless, yet aesthetically disturbing. Before 2022 ends, I did another ElectroCautery procedure (or shorten as Cauter) to get rid of them.

Did my first ElectroCautery back in 2018, you can check the post here.

Don’t panic if you google Syringoma and turns out they are actually tumors. They are mild and non-cancer ones. Similar to milia bumps, but they are not formed by oil glands. Instead, Syringoma are the result of over-productive sweat glands. Unfortunately, both can only be removed by professional procedures, and I choose ElectroCautery aka Cauter because I’ve done it before.

BEFORE CAUTER (mind the angry zit)
BEFORE CAUTER: Milia and Syringoma usually appeared around the eyes area

Since both are genetic, they might reappear after a few years, and in my case, they did after four years. I did my treatment at Beauty By Appointment again with the same steps applied. Clean the face, numb cream for 30 minutes and on with the Cauter. It wasn’t painful during the procedure, but after, your skin might felt sore (depending on your pain endurance level).

Do’s and Dont’s:

  • Do not wash your face 6 hours after the treatment.
  • Apply antibiotic cream on the wounds, twice a day on clean and dry skin. Do this consecutively for 5 days.
  • Alternatively, you might compressed your skin before applying the antibiotic cream, with NaCl solution (great for treating burnt wounds).
  • Use gentle facial cleanser with no active ingredients
  • Do not apply any actives while your skin is healing, wait until the wounds are completely and naturally flaking off.
  • Avoid any type of base makeup when the wounds are still wet.

How long did it take to heal? It might vary, depending on your skin ability. It took my skin 30 days to heal back in 2018 after the first procedure, see the photos here.

6 DAYS AFTER CAUTER: around the lids were healed more quickly
6 DAYS AFTER CAUTER: no scabs, just the red marks all around

Unlike most people that did Cauter, who had black scabs that peeled off naturally when they dried, my wounds didn’t. Instead they turns red like acne marks without no scabs. No worries, I will do my skin update when my skin heals completely, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, here are the products that I used during skin healing after Cauter.

  • La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5
  • 0.9% Sodium Chloride as my CSM to compress
  • Bioplacenton Gel

YEAY! IT’S FACIAL TIME

It has been a while since I blog (sorry, just so busy) and had a facial. Big thanks to Sociolla and Menard, I had a chance to do their special facial treatment at the launch of AUTHENT MASK.

image

Before the facial, me and fellow press were having a gala dinner at Dian Ballroom, Raffles Hotel Jakarta. At the gala, Menard Expert from Japan, Mr. Yasuhiro Iwata explained about the latest sheet mask from Menard. Claimed to increase the number of epidermal and dermal stem cells, this mask is quite interesting.

image

They have two sheets in a box, one for face and one for neck. Yes, neck. Many of us (including me, oooppss) neglected….well…overlook the neck and decolletage area in our skincare regime. Apparently, Menard realised the importance of this matter, when they created this mask to celebrate their 55th anniversary.

Contains the same active ingredients as the Authent Cream (like bamboo fungus), they will help strengthen and encourage collagen production. These two sheets mask also smell wonderful, thanks to the sweet cherry seed extract used.

While they recommend to apply the Authent Cream (above pic) nightly, it only take 15 minutes once a week to wear Authent Mask. I wish they allow us to leave them more longer, but no. The mask is engineered to sit there only for 15 minutes or else the dry sheet will absorb the ingredients back from our skin. And of course, we didn’t want that to happen.

Lucky me, I had a chance to try them on after the gala dinner. Check out this pic from Sociolla’s instagram (me with the mask on).

The whole experience was superb, yet educational because the therapist showed us the steps before applying the Authent Mask for maximal result.

image

The steps are quite long, but very enjoyable nevertheless: cleanse, tone, massage, scrub, mask. I love the massage, soft strokes yet powerful Shiatsu points that can help to improve blood and lymph flow, therefore improving nutrient flow to the skin. It felt so relaxing, I wish it was longer. LOL.

The therapist used Embellir Range for my face and Authent Cream & Mask as the final step. Yup, Authent Mask is supposed to be use on clean skin after face massage with Authent Cream, as night skin care. I recommend to use them while laying down, to keep the mask in tact. You’ll love the cool feeling and the neck mask actually feel tighten when applied correctly.

Check out the glow after the facial (pic above). My skin felt really dewy and plump after the facial. And the therapist said the glow will stay there for a week until the next usage of the mask. Oh wow!

Authent Mask is already available on Menard stores, or for avid online shoppers like me, they sold it exclusively on Sociolla
