OUR SHORT TRIP TO SINGAPORE

Making the most out of 3days/2nights trip, I decided to take my son to Art Science Museum. There was a permanent exhibition called “Future World: Where Art Meets Science”, and it was a great experience for me and my son. For kids nowadays, it really felt like an interactive digital playground. And everything looked very instagramable. Highly recommended place to visit while you’re in Singapore.

Since my son loves Pokémon, we’re lucky to visit their first Research Exhibition outside Japan. This is also a fun and interactive exhibition, especially for Pokémon fans. We got to guess the mysterious Pokémon inside the ball via various interactive machine. Too bad, we can’t take the Poké balls home though.

Yup, there’s Pikachu’s appearance too, make sure you take a pic with him.

Since this exhibition is inside the SEA Aquarium in Resorts World Sentosa, of course we went to see the fish and all. I personally enjoyed watching sea jellies. I felt peaceful when I saw them floating around.

Now, off to another fun activities: SHOPPING!

It’s still November, but it feels like Christmas already. Some of the stores already display their Christmas gifting ideas.

Those MAC NUTCRACKERS!!!!

And I stopped by H&M flagship store in Orchard Road to see their latest collection of H&M Beauty. Seriously fun to try everything without the sales person bugging you.

And they still have the Kenzo x H&M bag while I was there.

While in town, I tried the new Marks & Spencer Cafe, also located on the famous Orchard Road.

Their famous Victoria Cake which I tried way back in London a few years back was there!!! Nostalgic feeling. Must try their Fish & Chips, me and my son loved it so much.

So what did I end up buying? Check out my not so much haul. Since this ain’t no shopping trip, I tried not to spend too much as we’re going to another holiday destination in December soon. Stay tune for my other travel post!

We Shall Have This in Indonesia

The Body Shop Green Sanctuary. It’s The Body Shop Spa, located in Singapore.

Thanks for The Body Shop Indonesia team, I got a chance to experience the spa on my last trip to Singapore earlier this month. It was a great spa experience indeed, considering that I got exhausted from all the walking and shopping, LOL.

The Body Shop Green Sanctuary is located on Basement 1 Paragon, right on the heart of Orchard Road. Who would’ve thought there’s a spa inside the store? With 4 treatment rooms and 1 steam room, you really need to make a reservation before coming here to experience body treatments, from facial to foot massage. Unfortunately, some of the treatments are exclusively for ladies, such as body treatments. But no worries guys, you can still do facial here.

My treatment that day was REVITALISING FULL BODY RITUAL, which is one of their new body treatment. This treatment promise to stimulate and rejuvenate a tired body and mind, and highly recommended for busy individuals who need a recharge. Sounds perfect for me!

The whole treatment took about 90 minutes, and yes, it was a 90 minutes well spent for me during my holiday trip to Singapore. Sally, my therapist, began with a very firm back massage. And to tell you the truth, coming from Indonesia and having experienced spa here and there including Paris, this might be the very first spa experience when I really felt the strokes. Most of the spa experiences I had outside Indonesia before were not that memorable. So yeah, Sally rocks! LOL.

After the back massage, the treatment continues with scrub and mask wrapping. Below are The Body Shop products that Sally used during my treatment.

I love how the clay mask felt. It felt cooling yet warming at the same time. And having the treatment on a warm electrical bed added to the pleasure, indeed.

Mind the grin on my face and ignore my double chin, please. LOL.

After the treatment, it was shower time. They do provide some choices of bath products in the shower cube as you can see below.

After the 90 minutes treatment, I felt so relaxed and my body felt lighter. Ready to walk and shop some more.

I do really wish that The Body Shop will consider to open this same concept in Indonesia soon. Of course, I’m going to be one of the very first to try one in my home country.

Thanks The Body Shop Indonesia and The Body Shop Singapore who made this happened.

(ANOTHER) EYEBROW MAKEOVER

How do your eyebrow look?

Getting the perfect eyebrow for my face shape is never easy. In my good days, my face looks more oval. In my bad days, it looks round. It changes, really. Yes, there are tips on how to shape your own eyebrow, how to measure and arch….but seriously, I never pluck my own eyebrow unless they’ve been shaped by professionals before. It is a tricky and (in my case) dangerous situation if there’s over plucking involved, and I end up looking (more) fierce than I already am. Haha…

Back in July last year, I’ve tried Anastasia Beverly Hills in Bangkok. See my previous post here. The latest eyebrow shaping adventure I had, was at Erabelle Prestige, Singapore. Located in Vivo City, I decided to go with one of their services, named Erabrow Design. The brow trimming service, non permanent ones. I don’t have the courage yet to do any semi-permanent either permanent eyebrow shaping, so from now, it seems to be a safe choice.

The 20 minutes service (that was quick) of eyebrow shaping cost me SG$29. They plucked, trimmed, and colored (with eyebrow pencil) my eyebrows to my desired shape which also suit my face shape at that moment (which apparently turned heart shaped when I got too thin). Service’s wise, OK. Love the ambience and the nice therapist with kimonos, but I still prefer the end result from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Every great thing does come with the price, indeed.

WHEN IS OUR TURN?

I forgot when I first fell in love with the brand. For the fast fashion lovers, this Swedish brand is definitely IT!

H&M. Personally, I visited every H&M stores I could find whenever I went abroad. But the most memorable H&M moment for me was when I went to H&M in Singapore for their opening party, September last year. I went to the opening the night before (invitations only) and it was a blast to see Singaporeans lined up the day before the store opened for public (see pictures above). Even though I didn’t know most of the local celebrities and VVIP in Singapore, I snapped a pic of Denise Keller and shopped my guts out that night (yes we were invited to shop).

After hearing so many rumors about H&M in Indonesia where I live, well … eventually, H&M will open sooner in Bangkok, Thailand. Reportedly will be open on September 29, 2012, it will occupied two floors in Siam Paragon. Congratulations. (I wish I can be there for the opening party as well-hello PR people??)

Update news: H&M will open its’ door sooner on September 22, 2012 in Malaysia. Spread across 36.000 square feet at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur, it’ll be the first store in Malaysia before the second one in Setia City Mall, Shah Alam.
