THIS IS HOW 21ST CENTURY ROMANTICISM LOOKS LIKE

Hand painted floral prints, Japanese inspired with key items such as tunic jackets and caftans presented by Veronica Etro, for ETRO Spring Summer 2013.

Apparently, in clear rejection of speedy computer-generated prints, ETRO chose the art of hand painted prints. Expect to see more simplified shapes fashion with unbelievable wearability factor which will work for any type of body. And those clutches are to die for. Look at the one with an Origami’s knot style, isn’t it gorgeous?

SCREAM IN STYLE

20 years old Brit’s own supermodel, Cara Delevingne, known for her full eyebrows and such in high demand in fashion world, shows off DSquared2’s Resort 2013 Collection campaign video.

Designers Dean and Dan of DSquared2, together with director Senio Zapruder, shows the supermodel acting a scene from the 1996 iconic horror movie, Scream. Check it out.

A WINNER’S DELIGHT

In the previous post, http://shintarosvita.tumblr.com/post/35827431986/styling-myself-i-can-see-why-kate-moss-was-picked I’ve got 1 million rupiahs to spend for winning Mango Style Up Yourself Contest this year. Here, I share what I picked from the store.

I went to Gandaria City, one of the big mall in South Jakarta, near where I live, to pick up my prize at Mango’s store. Browsed around the internet previously before I came by to the store, I saw most of the new arrival items online are available too.

And finally I’ve decided to pick up two in trend color for fall 2012, oxblood. As spooky it might sound, oxblood is really dramatic yet sultry in a luxe way. I believe oxblood will effortlessly mix into any wardrobe. Of course, there are a lot of oxblood color in the store, from skinny pants to dresses, but I’ve decided to pick two items with a touch of oxblood. A grey boxy top with touch of oxblood on the sleeves, and a two tone shoulder bag embellished with metallic applications. I’ll share you how I mix match the two items soon. Stay tune.

ANYONE CAN GET DRESSED UP AND GLAMOROUS BUT IT IS HOW PEOPLE DRESS IN THEIR DAYS OFF THAT ARE THE MOST INTRIGUING

ALEXANDER WANG

BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO COMPETE WITH THE CHRISTMAS TREE

The secret to a successful Christmas Party Dress is to keep it as humble as possible, as polite as possible but still as stunning as you can be. Read on.

For those of you who always feel pressured to pick the right Christmas Party Dress, don’t be. Yes, there are lots of choices out there, but here’s how:

– Details : Asymmetric line will give a modern touch to the whole look.

– Fabrics : Stay out of cotton which screams b.o.r.i.n.g. Instead, opt for lace, chiffon, silk or anything in between that say c.o.u.t.u.r.e.

– Colors : Black is fine if you’re comfortable with the slimming effect, but try another color for the sake of Christmas. The latest color, teal, will also give similar slimming effect plus a lady like look. Or go for metallic, it is time to shine subtly.

– Length : Keep yourself free of stares for wearing mini dress. Especially, if you have to visit older (read: parents or in-laws) relatives. Knee length is the best choice, anyway, it’s easier to sit without having to pull your dress all night (it’s not a nice gesture, ladies).

– Fit : Put a rest on your body-con dress. This is not the right time to put it on. Loose dress is also a big no-no’s, as you might look sloppy and unprepared. Choose a fit to your body dress, which will give a sophisticated look, and still comfortable to wear. Remember all those Christmas menus that we have to consume later, though.

WINTER IN MANGO LAND

Another fashion campaign from the Spanish brand, Mango. This time, the co-host of MTV’s House of Style, Karlie Kloss is one of the three models starred for their Winter 2012 collection.

Personally, I love winter collection even though I live in this so called tropical climate city (what’s so tropical about it? It’s so darn hot). So, I feel entertained whenever I saw fashion catalogue for winter collection.

Here are the 5 top looks I love from Mango Winter 2012 collection from the work attire to chic evening and night out ensembles. Instead of thick long winter coat, a black biker jacket or a tailored white jacket will do just fine in our hot weather. And I love the black and gold cap toe pumps. I can see myself rocking any style with these pumps.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA FOR H&M PICTURES

The collection will be sold in stores at November 15. Yet, some of their images have been reveiled. Now, it made us more curious about the whole collection.

I’m always excited when H&M announced their collaboration projects. For me, it’s double the fun, double the creativity and double the urge to have it. And this Maison Martin Margiela collaboration is no exception. Check out some of the campaign images that were shot by artist and director Sam Taylor-Johnson on the streets of Paris.

Judging by these campaign images, we can expect the much lower priced of Margiela’s signature style. Avant-garde meets sharp tailoring, anyone?

A VIEW FROM THE FRONT ROW

Every year, Indonesian Fashion Designers Association, known as IPMI (in Indonesian language: Ikatan Perancang Mode Indonesia) held a trend show as a reference for the Indonesian fashion.

Established since 1986, this annual event was held on October 9, 2012 at Soehana Hall, Energy Building, Jakarta, Indonesia. Eight designers showed their existences through each creativities and expressiveness. The theme of the year is “Energie”, which represent their energy to explore and innovate thus create a fashion masterpiece.

From 8 designers, I watched four of them, Yongki Budisutisna, Adrianto Halim, Tuty Cholid and Barli Asmara. Yongki brought a lot of sexy backs (mostly in black) on the runway, which mostly reminds me of 1950’s vintage style with flared skirts. Tuty and her batik collection graced the runway with mix of crochet. I love how she wrapped batik as a top, paired with crochet flare skirt. Adrianto played with orange color and ruffles a lot, yet it made his collection the brightest color on the runway last night.

The highlight of the show was a performance by Dewi Sandra, famous Indonesian singer, wearing Barli Asmara. She flirted the audience with her group of dancers, singing Lady Marmalade. Just as the Moulin Rouge performance, she looked great with flapper dress style from the 1920’s. I love how she styled her hair, braids with Avatar kind of style. She’s also one of Barli’s muse, so no surprised when she introduced Barli’s collection for the night. Quite an interesting closing of the show when Barli’s models came out with huge silver cape covering their dresses beneath. Barli’s key look: sheer, bling, flower detail and folding fan. Very art deco, the whole Barli’s collection remind me of the movie “Midnight in Paris”.

All of their ready to wear collection will be exclusively available at Metro Department Store on April 2013.
