MISS LAWRENCE

First Oscar and first ad campaign as the face of Miss Dior.

Not bad for a 22 years old actress, right? While the ads will be shown worldwide in prints by April 2013, thanks to Dior Indonesia, I got to share these stunning pictures of her.

Shown with Miss Dior bags, she wears designs from Spring RTW collection by none other than Raf Simons, current Dior Creative Director.

THE TARTAN’S VIBE

The traditional print is back for Fall Winter 2013.

Anna Molinari for Blugirl mixed tartan with bold leopard prints. Definitely not a school girl look, the collection was inspired by style icon Alexa Chung.

Meanwhile at Moschino, equestrian styling is the key to rock the tartan look.

COLLABORATION NATION

Because 1+1 = 2?

Tight budget? This is the fashionable way out without THE price.

A GODDESS OR MY GOODNESS?

It was an eye opening moment when Carrie Underwood wore projected images dress at The Grammy Awards 2013.

The platinum gown slash canvas for projected images was by Theia Couture. Theia Couture was launched four years ago, inspired by (who else?)Theia, the Greek Goddess, and the creative director is Don O’Neill (he worked with Carmen Marc Valvo and Badgley Mischka before). That explained such fine fabrics and gorgeous details from the dress before it lighted up.

It took four people to make this dress in 80 hours. Look carefully, and you can see that the inside corset is hand-embroidered with thousands of Swarovski crystals. You think they were already complicated? The fabrics were shipped from France to Carrie’s stylist team for approval. And a video production company has to make sure it was compatible with the projection technology.

Are you blown away by her dress just like her hit which she sang for that light up performance?

SCARLET ALERT

Just an idea of what to wear for the Lunar New Year.

Even though I’m not celebrating (surprise, surprise)… I’m gonna wear something red or maybe scarlet (more bright reddish orange) tomorrow, just because that particular color supposed to symbolize prosperity, fortune and luck.

Some people (read: me) love the color but terrified of pulling it off. No worries, if you’re not ready for a daring red outfit, pick a pop of red, like shoes, clutch or ring which will brighten up your look instantly.

ALWAYS DRESS LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO SEE YOUR WORST ENEMY.

WELCOMING H&M BIG SISTER

Finally, the official look book of “& Other Stories” has hit the web.

Spring & Summer 2013 will never be the same again, now that H&M big sister “& Other Stories” is in the fashion world. The first ever luxury line consist of only ready to wear womenswear plus accessories and beauty products.

No pricing out yet, but considering they announced it as a luxury line and more refined senior (I’d prefer big sister, though) version of H&M, I guess they’ll be more expensive than H&M. Maybe same like COS (another brand which also belongs to H&M)?

Here are some of my favorites.

ANOTHER HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED COLLABORATIONS?

Rihanna for River Island.

Scheduled to premiere on February 16 during London Fashion Week this year, the collection will be casual, chic and flirty (that’s what she said in her behind the scene video above).

If you wonder who sit next to her, is Adam Selman, who designed Riri’s looks for her Loud & 777 tours. He and Riri collaborated on this collection, which will hit stores in the UK on March 5, 2013.

I NEED A HERO

This is what happened if satchel meets doctor’s bag.

Heroine Bag by Alexander McQueen will be a hero in any closets. Described as a “timeless luxury piece”, they’re available in small and medium size.

My favorite? The ivory/black medium. Very structured, polished, and very McQueen. My hero.

ARE THERE ANY RULES IN FASHION?

Especially if you’re over 40?

Who said that you’re forbidden to wear sneakers for the rest of your (might be shorter) life?

Then, I present to you the living proof: Sarah Jessica Parker. Just looking at her style, made me want to run to the nearest Converse’s store. Spotted with her kids, SJP knew exactly when to wear her favorite sneakers. Off the red carpet, for sure. It’s all about the timing and how you styled them, really. See how SJP pulled it off, pair of Converse with cropped leather jacket and rolled up fade boyfriend’s denim.

I’m a true believer that there shouldn’t be any limitations in Fashion. Just dressing age and time appropriate, as you know yourself better than anyone else. After all, if there are such things as Fashion rules, rules are made to be broken, remember?
