For the longest time, I thought I always had allover oily skin. NOT.

I wasn’t born to have perfect skin, eventually. I had severe acnes during teenager period and that problem still chasing me until now. Adult acne sucks! So, of course I have oily skin, but not like allover. As I grew older, seems like the oil production slow down and some dry spots below the cheeks near my jaw, appeared.

Before I found out about MULTIMASKING technique, I use to apply facial mask on my oily part only. The rest are left behind blank. For those who are not familiar with multimasking, it’s actually a clever technique to apply different mask at the same time on different part of face. So, mask for oily skin goes to the oily part, and mask for dry skin goes to the dry part. Yes, this is a current huge trend in beauty world, and THE BODY SHOP are jumping on it.

Welcoming a range of facial mask, THE BODY SHOP SUPERFOOD MASKS.

Five different facial masks, packed with natural ingredients and 100% vegetarian. They’re also paraben-free, silicone-free, mineral oil-free and paraffins-free.

  1. Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask is 100% vegan, and great for detox.
  2. British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask is also 100% vegan and great for adding hydration.
  3. Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance Mask is also 100% vegan and great for energising.
  4. Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Mask is great for nourishing.
  5. Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask is great to brighten.

Each mask comes with different purpose and textures (cream & gel). But they all have one thing in common, they smell amazingly natural. As big fan of roses scent, I love British Rose Fresh Plumping Mask scent. One of them even looks great enough to eat. But don’t!

Made out of Ethiopian Honey, the gel texture really resembles honey shades and scents. When applied on my dry part of face, it sort of melting on the skin, and left mine feeling calm and relax. So yeah, instead of leaving my dry part blank, now I’m multimasking with two types of masks.

This range of mask will be available throughout The Body Shop Indonesia’s stores next month, October 2016. Make sure you pick the right masks for your skin need.

The Body Shop Indonesia launched two range of skin care products: DROPS OF LIGHT and SKIN DEFENCE MULTI-PROTECTION ESSENCE SPF 50 PA++++ this week.

Always searching for new natural ingredients all over the world, now it’s red algae, from the deep North Atlantic ocean. They also uses Vitamin C, which we know is a popular ingredient to blur dark spots & hyperpigmentation. Drops Of Light is a skin-brightening regime that promised to give us another dose of radiant and smooth skin day after day. Good to know that sensitive skin can use this range, too. Hold your horses, as this range will be available in The Body Shop Indonesia’s stores on September 19, 2016.

The other product they launched is their new SPF. As I age, I got paranoid of the effects of the sun. We all need a good SPF, stat! Unlike other SPF, this is not creamy in texture. Instead, it’s very feather light, thanks to their milk-to-water essence formula. With broad spectrum UV filters, and added ingredients like brightening red algae and antioxidant Vitamin C. this unique SPF will protect our skin against multiple skin aggressors, while being comfortable to use. It won’t give us that weird white casts post-applied.

It’s completely vegetarian and formulated without parabens, mineral oils & paraffins. Recommended to use under makeup, and don’t forget to reapply frequently if you’re going to be out in the sun.

If you live in Jakarta, or happened to be in town this long weekend, drop by to Grand Indonesia to try them for yourself. You can also do your skin check here, to see their product recommendation.

We Shall Have This in Indonesia

The Body Shop Green Sanctuary. It’s The Body Shop Spa, located in Singapore.

Thanks for The Body Shop Indonesia team, I got a chance to experience the spa on my last trip to Singapore earlier this month. It was a great spa experience indeed, considering that I got exhausted from all the walking and shopping, LOL.

The Body Shop Green Sanctuary is located on Basement 1 Paragon, right on the heart of Orchard Road. Who would’ve thought there’s a spa inside the store? With 4 treatment rooms and 1 steam room, you really need to make a reservation before coming here to experience body treatments, from facial to foot massage. Unfortunately, some of the treatments are exclusively for ladies, such as body treatments. But no worries guys, you can still do facial here.

My treatment that day was REVITALISING FULL BODY RITUAL, which is one of their new body treatment. This treatment promise to stimulate and rejuvenate a tired body and mind, and highly recommended for busy individuals who need a recharge. Sounds perfect for me!

The whole treatment took about 90 minutes, and yes, it was a 90 minutes well spent for me during my holiday trip to Singapore. Sally, my therapist, began with a very firm back massage. And to tell you the truth, coming from Indonesia and having experienced spa here and there including Paris, this might be the very first spa experience when I really felt the strokes. Most of the spa experiences I had outside Indonesia before were not that memorable. So yeah, Sally rocks! LOL.

After the back massage, the treatment continues with scrub and mask wrapping. Below are The Body Shop products that Sally used during my treatment.

I love how the clay mask felt. It felt cooling yet warming at the same time. And having the treatment on a warm electrical bed added to the pleasure, indeed.

Mind the grin on my face and ignore my double chin, please. LOL.

After the treatment, it was shower time. They do provide some choices of bath products in the shower cube as you can see below.

After the 90 minutes treatment, I felt so relaxed and my body felt lighter. Ready to walk and shop some more.

I do really wish that The Body Shop will consider to open this same concept in Indonesia soon. Of course, I’m going to be one of the very first to try one in my home country.

Thanks The Body Shop Indonesia and The Body Shop Singapore who made this happened.

Now that Ramadan’s month is approaching soon, look no further to buy presents for friends, relatives or colleagues.

The Body Shop Indonesia launch their Ramadan Festival 2016 last Friday, with choices of makeup trends, gifts choices and donation.

Since 2012, The Body Shop Indonesia has been launching different gifts collection for Ramadan. And this year, to celebrate Ramadan 2016, their theme is “Give A Heartful Gift”. Packed in Ramadan’s theme tin and card boxes, there are choices from bath and body care to fragrance with variable prices, start from IDR 129.000 to IDR 1.109.000.

At the event, they also displayed quite a lot of skincare array, specifically their Drops of Youth and Oils of Life line.

As skin might get drier and look dull during fasting on Ramadan’s month, our skin needs extra caring and hydration. And these two lines from The Body Shop can help tackle those problems.

Oh, by the way, they’ll launch new products soon from their Drops of Youth line.

I (super) love the new bottle packaging.

I believe their skincare line gets growing, a very good sign that we now have much more alternatives to take care of our skin, especially during fasting month, when skin needs it most.

For me, it is VERY important. I will take any of my available time (trust me, not so much) to just reboot. Do you know that taking time for ourselves apparently has psychological & physical benefits?

Yes, dearest. We juggle our career and family everyday, wouldn’t it be good to have ‘me time’ for our sanity’s sake? And what’s better than pampering yourself in the comfort of your own bathroom, with the latest spa collection from THE BODY SHOP “SPA OF THE WORLD”.

Check out my pics from their launch event in The Dharmawangsa Hotel Jakarta.

I love how each packaging look so luxurious. I also learned at the event, that dark colored packaging is very much needed to keep the benefits of their essential oils.

They have bath milks, massage oils, exfoliants and creams. In total they have 11 products which divided into three beauty rituals: RELAXING, BLISSFUL and REVITALISING. They named this collection SPA OF THE WORLD, because each product features ingredients from different part of the world. Yup, now creating a spa experience at home is much easier.

At the event, they also launched OILS OF LIFE, skincare range that specifically created to intensely revitalise skin, revive radiance & leave our skin feel nourished. If your skincare regime need a new life, well you gotta wait, as this range will be available in Indonesia by early March 2016.

Christmas is like a few days away. And this 24 HAPPY DAYS from THE BODY SHOP INDONESIA surely brings joy for me.

Wonderfully presented with a bouquet of fresh flowers on top, wait until you see what’s inside!

Like jigsaw boxes with total 25 lovely products from The Body Shop, it was truly a delightful experience of unboxing (see my unboxing timelapse video on my Instagram @shintarosvita). Actually there are 24 individual box seen once it was opened, but inside the number 24 box, there’s box number 25. Surprise, surprise!

And each of the box stated something, like this “Visez l’or” means “Stay Golden”, which thoughtfully got The Body Shop Colour Crush gold eyeshadow inside.

Can we say ‘amen’ to this beautiful quote?

For the rest of the products, voila!

I know, right? Plenty of products (ranging from body care to makeup and tools) to last more than 24 happy days. Sensational gifts for a special Christmas this year, indeed.

If you’re still looking for this year’s Christmas treat, for your loved ones or for yourself, click here. Joyeux Noël!

Saviour for acne prone skin around the world: Tea Tree Oil from The Body Shop.

Launched in 1995, it’s still their best seller until today. They claimed, one sold every 8 seconds around the world (wow!). And in conjunction with their 20th anniversary this year, The Body Shop launched the bigger version of Tea Tree Oil (which I hold in the pic above), doubled the size of the old ones (which is only 10ml). Not just that, they’ll also have bigger Facial Wash and Skin Clearing Toner. Look out for them in stores, starting October 16, 2015.

I was invited to their anniversary party with fellow bloggers and press, it was an afternoon full of fun and games (and cotton candies!). I even took a pic with the mascot (see below), LOL.

So, what made this oil great for acne prone skin? “Our Tea Tree range contain only pure leaf essential oil, organically grown from our Community Fair Trade program around Mount Kenya National Park. The leaves are steam distilled within 12 hours of harvest, using a gentle heat to ensure a high quality tea tree oil,” said Rika Anggraini, GM Corporate Communication The Body Shop Indonesia.

At the event, there were Ayu Sita & Marcel Chandrawinata (Indonesian celebs) who gave their testimonial about their favourite Tea Tree range. Apparently, these two famous actors were the stars of Tea Tree short movie which will be launched in youtube this October 17, 2015. So, make sure you watch those two in action.

This year’s summer was super hot. Literally.

And the worst part about this summer, no holiday for me. Yes, that means, no sipping cocktails by the pool while wearing big hat and that designer’s sunglasses. Sigh. Then came one fine day after office hours, I got home and received this cool package (complete with the cocktail shaker) from The Body Shop Indonesia. Limited Edition Body Care range with an irresistible blend of lime extracts and crushed mint leaves, named VIRGIN MOJITO. I believed they were inspired by the same Virgin Mojito, the alcohol-free version of the popular refreshing poolside cocktail.

A perfect summer essentials to get that fresh feeling every day, especially if you’re a fan of fresh and uplifting scent. In the package I received the Shower Gel, Body Scrub and Body Butter to try. I’ve tried the shower gel with warm water in the shower and I love the way it cleansed well with tingling mint and touch of citrusy scent. Use loofah for extra foam and enjoyable bathing experience. Great for morning use to sort of waking up the skin.

Check out the green beads in the body scrub. Comes in a gel formula, it’s not too harsh, even when I applied them on dry skin. I love to scrub on dry skin, as I believe it’s more effective to remove dead skin.

Last but not least, the body butter. Wonderful texture, it melts into my skin like butter. Don’t be fooled by the strong fragrance once you opened the tub, because the scent will toned down once applied and stay soft for the next 3 hours. It didn’t make my skin look greasy or feel like one, too. I think it’s more lightweight than the previous body butters from The Body Shop that I’ve tried.

The complete Virgin Mojito range are now available in The Body Shop Indonesia’s stores and online. Go get them now, as they’re limited edition!
