CHIC SLIP-ONS

It’s going to be a colourful summer, indeed!

These slip ons from RIVIERAS, definitely fit in to my style motto. Never sacrifice style for comfort and vice versa. Guess what? Even Vogue Italy already proclaimed that Slip-Ons are THE Shoes for Spring Summer 2015.

Originated in France, now RIVIERAS has one flagship store in Plaza Indonesia Level 4, Jakarta, Indonesia. I love their store that built like you were on a yacht. I can see that the owner loves Grace Kelly that much (her black and white photos were all over the wall). And no wonder, considering these shoes did add the touch of chic 1950s to our style.

And you can’t miss those lovely colourful shoes boxes, displayed neatly to create their own art wall.

They do carry range of series, including the latest Spring Summer 2015 Collection. Renowned as a summer moccasins, this season they do play with lots of colours, from pastels to bolder ones.

Went to the store for the launch of SS 2015 Collection, I completely overwhelmed and spoilt by so many choices (duh, who wouldn’t?). But a girl gotta choose, so I went for SULTAN 30degrees style.

As you can see, SULTAN style came in 4 lovely colours. And I went for the Bordeaux ones. Personally, I believe that they will rise to any occasions whatever I’m wearing.

Even though RIVIERAS remind me of the royalty who hangs around at the European beaches, they’re not just for the holiday, people! Guys will look great with a pair of these and casual bermudas, gals will look chic with a pair of these and capri pants! Not to mention, I love the fact that they’re lightweight and super comfy, too. As they are named leisure shoes, please don’t think too much of mix and matching them with the colour of your outfit. Just put them on and let them speak by themselves.

MORE CUSTOMIZED SHOES ARE COMING

And this one is from the classic iconic shoes, we all wish we have or had.

If you have 7 to 9 weeks to wait for a pair of customized shoes, then Ferragamo Vara and Varina are so worth the wait. Celebrating Vara which has been around for 35 years and her sister, Varina (a ballet flats version of Vara, launched in 2007), now we can have our own customized version.

Almost every part of the shoe can be customize, from their material, color, initials and width, to bow and hardware. Our initials (only 3 letters allowed) will be added on the sole on a metal pale, which is the same color of the Ferragamo’s hardware. And if you have extra wide feet, no fret, they have the right width for you. Check out my version of Vara and Varina above. Click here to customize yours.

They cost US$550/pair, which I personally think will be (another) great fashion investment of mine (and yours?) since these shoes will never goes out of style. I mean, come on, they were worn by Marilyn Monroe to Carey Mulligan. The shoe history speaks for itself, really.

EVERY STEP YOU TAKE

They said, every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway.

You bet! For those who fear not to make any statement that stick to any part of your body, embrace “Heavy Machine”. Footwear brand established in 2010 by Michelle Wu, born in Taiwan, live in Italy. She was inspired by industrial machine structures and heavy strong lines which delivered a hell out of statement shoes collection.

Not just trendy, her shoes are edgy, strong, yet feminine in the same time. Check out my faves from her SS 2013 collection, with such modern, architectural, bright and bold vibes. Made out of high quality calf leather and all made in Italy, I can’t wait for “Heavy Machine” to reach Indonesia (currently the nearest country available in Taiwan).

Well darlings, if you want to become the center of any attention, make sure to wear the right kind of shoes.

WEAR YOUR ZODIAC ON YOUR..

Feet.

That’s right. For those who believes in your zodiac that much, you’re proud to show it to the world on your shoes, by walking in them. And none other than Charlotte Olympia came up with this awesome idea, mixing suede slippers with our own star sign. Embellished with Swarovski crystals and handmade for each astrological sign, this very personalized shoes are definitely on my next shoes wish list.

Being a proud Leo myself (renowned for our sunny & outgoing personalities, ehm!), check out the close up of the lion embellishment. So fierce & fabulous. Apparently those “Put Yourself in Someone Else’s Shoes” idioms will not be applied, unless you’re in the same sign. The collection is already available in net-a-porter.

FROM BRIDAL, RED CARPET, NOW SHOES

Check out these fabulous shoes collection from Monique Lhuillier.

Known for her famous bridal and gorgeous red carpet attires, she’s branching out to her very first shoes collection for Spring 2013 which look super elegant just like her iconic gowns.

While I can’t see a bride walking down the aisle with these babies, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be a fashion statement somewhere down another aisles.

FIRST, HULA HOOP BAG …

Now…it’s ice cream with cone heels…

from the one & only Kaiser, Karl Lagerfeld. His capsule collection for Melissa shoes, named Kollaboration has finally launched in the US. And the muse? Cara Delevigne was chosen to star in the ad campaign, through the Kaiser’s lens as well.
This is the first time Karl collaborated with the Brazilian jelly shoes brand, and also his first time working with plastic materials for shoes.
For Indonesia’s Melissa’s fans, let’s cross our fingers, as their official Indonesia facebook page already shown the pictures from the Kollaboration Collection.

THIS IS NOT MY SHOE CLOSET

But I really wish it is.

It’s actually an awesome concept by Coach, when shoes closet goes digital. Available on their online store for Spring 2013 collection, it’s a dream closet indeed.

Tell me, who wouldn’t want racks full of spring colored shoes? Super perfect for our Jakarta’s weather, with complete types of feet fancies that every woman should have in their real shoe closet. Pastel sandals with tassles, pastel moccasins, ankles straps wedges, sexy heels, metallic huaraches, cute flats and slippers…I am sold.

AND I SAY …

we all must move on from our addiction of red heels.

(Fashion) Life goes on, and it’s time to check out these fun, bold and fierce heels from an American designer, Taylor Reeve.

Before “Taylor Says” (her shoes brand), this native Californian girl was painting motorcycles and surfboards. Now, she’s channeling her wearable art through shoes (read stilettos).

From her Spring 2013 collection, these are my favorites. I love the “Melons” with gingham fabric and printed watermelon for the heels, “Anchors Away” which featured anchors on striking blue uppers and a cartoony art on the heels & last but not least, “Hells Bells” (so Givenchy with the bulldogs), contrasting pink and green for the heels.

FUN FEARLESS FABULOUS …

Shoes!

Look at those shoes. Designed by a former assistant (the first ever assistant, btw) to Nicholas Kirkwood, Sophia Webster went on her own collection. Her mission? Put the fun back into footwear. Is she going to be the shoe world’s new rising star? You decide.

Now available at net-a-porter.

WOOED BY WU, AGAIN

Exploring his design possibilities with material like plastic, Jason Wu did it again with Melissa shoes.

Started their collaboration for the Spring 2012 collection, look at his midas touch for the Brazil brand. He played with Melissa’s unique patent plastic, named Melfex to create his own imagination of jelly shoes. I love the flats, especially the green Melissa Moon+Jason Wu.
