Hi Folks! Sorry for such a long hiatus. I’m back as full-time worker, so I have limited time to blog. One of the positive side of going back to work is applying makeup. And here’s one of my current favorite concealer, because it’s also proven to be safe for fungal acne.
Mine is shade 120 Light, and actually I’ve used this before. This concealer is unique, it comes with the cushion applicator. If you’ve been following me, you’d know that I don’t use foundation as a base, instead I use concealer on just some part of my face. But in this specific post, I’d show you the concealer effect on under eyes.
If you noticed, I only applied this on inner and outer corners of my eyes. Why? This is a trick that I’ve learned watching Wayne Goss’ YT, to avoid creasing under eyes, especially for aging skin. And talking about aging, this concealer is not just a coverage concealer per se, it is infused with goji berry Haloxyl. It is an anti-aging concealer, and because it does have a light texture, it doesn’t sit on lines and crease-resistant. Try using setting mist before applying concealer to set, instead of using setting powder that will increase the chance of getting creased under eyes.
I hope my pictures do the rest of this review. See you on another post (hopefully soon).
But, do we really need one? Investing in a face primer is necessary for those who want their makeup to last longer. And having a fungal-acne prone skin and adult acnes are still hunting me, it’s not easy to find one that’s safe. But I found them. Read on!
As you might all be aware already, most of primers do contain silicone (which might come in different names on the ingredients’ list like dimethicone), which still become a debate on how they will clogged pores or not. They are widely used for primers, just because they do create a barrier and make sure our skin looks smoother by filling in pores and lines. Unfortunately, some people are allergic to silicone. Those who have acne-prone skin or have rosacea, are not recommended to use anything with silicone as it may occlude pores and make them worse. So, proceed with caution.
Personally, I don’t use primer everyday. I use it when I know I’m going to be out and about for longer hours. Or I use it when I filmed for YouTube and create content for IG and this blog. On daily basis (now that I’m not working full time), I only wear concealer and compact powder as base.
I believe these primers below helped me to create healthy and glowing looking skin. See my ‘before after’ pics, and you’ll agree with me that all the ‘after’ pics do look similar in terms of giving my skin that “not dead matte” look. Lately, I’ve been avoiding matte base as they will settle more on my lines and pores. Well, matte no more!
BLITHE IN BETWEEN AURORA PRIMER & SETTING MIST
As the name stated, we can use this as a primer and/or setting mist. Perfect if you want that glowing look, I’ll let my pics be the judge.
You can also spritz your beauty blender with this, if you wish to glow subtly. Or spray directly and evenly all over the face before foundation, or after makeup to set everything.
PRO: Comes in a spray form, feels lighter on skin than ordinary creamy primers.
CON: By the end of the day, if you live in a humid and hot city like me, you’ll look oily not dewy and fresh like when you initially spray it.
BANILA CO INSTANT FIX PRIMER CLASSIC
Now, this one will keep makeup looking and stay fresh all-day. With its’ gel texture, this apply lightly on skin and very easy to blend. Personally, I use this with damp beauty blender before applying liquid foundation.
PRO: Gave velvet-smooth looking skin and safe for fungal-acne
CON: It’s fragranced
YSL TOP SECRETS INSTANT MOISTURE GLOW
I’m not sure why they categorized this as moisturizer. Probably because unlike other primers that I’ve tried, this actually add hydration. But anyway, I treated this like a primer, because of its’ pore-blurring capability.
PRO: You can feel that moisturizing feeling and it’s safe for fungal-acne. And it looks better at the end of the day (weird but true).
Sulwhasoo Indonesia for sending me this liquid foundation for an honest review.
most of Korean foundation designed to look as natural as possible. This one,
too. Infused with sea buckthorn berries (which is rich in antioxidants), and
powered with Sheer Hydra Formula Technology, this foundation adheres to skin
gently, with a natural glowing finish. The formula contains non-oily

according to skincarisma.com, this foundation is not fungal-acne safe due to
one of its’ ingredient (Sorbitan Sesquioleate), but it’s not one of the top 5
main ingredients. If you don’t have any problem with fungal acne, it should be
Rollover Reaction team for sending me this PR Kit before they even launch this
on March 25, 2019.
So, is it a
cushion? Or is it a tinted moisturizer? Or both?
cushion is ‘the house’ for the liquid inside (it is a packaging format). Most
brands filled it with liquid foundation. But being Rollover Reaction, they
filled it with tinted moisturizer. To tell you the truth, I was being skeptical
at first, because I thought this is going to be one sheer base like most tinted
moisturizer out there. Boy, I was wrong!
just cover well, but (I guess because one of the ingredient is caffeine) it
perked up my complexion. And since this is also formulated with sunscreen SPF27,
you can carry this for touch-ups during the day. Reapply over makeup and voila!
You can get sun protection all day too.
about the ingredients, I’ve noticed Stearic Acid on the list down below.
According to SkinCarisma.com, it is a fungal-acne trigger. So better watch out
if you are prone to fungal-acne.
You are not feeling like going heavy on foundation
You love natural-looking cushion (not dewy nor matte)
You like versatile products that can go with you anywhere (thanks to its’ cute packaging)
You expect medium to high coverage tinted moisturizer in a compact
Another collaboration collection from one of my favorite local brands. This time, they collaborated with Asmara Abigail (known as an actress) and Talitha Maranila (known for her artworks). It is a gold collection, wearable luxury that anyone can afford.
When the words Mata Hari join together, they mean ‘sun’. But, this is different. Apparently this collection was inspired by the one and only, Mata Hari (yes, that charming and mysterious exotic dancer) from the 1900’s. If you google Mata Hari, you’d be as fascinated as I am, especially if you’re into that glam-spy thing. Anyway, back to the Mata Hari Collection from Rollover Reaction. It consists of two tubes of Liquid Eye Tint, named (literally Mata and Hari). I believe this is the most extravagant but still wearable and easy to pull off collection from the ever-minimalist brand.
Mata (on the left) is glittery with a glimmering silver-gold shimmer.
Hari (on the right) is a solid gold hue with gold particles.
If you’re into gold and glitter, you’ll love this latest collection from Rollover Reaction. You can buy the collection, here.
My obsession to Korean skincare, doesn’t mean that I know everything about Korean entertainment industry. In the matter of fact, I didn’t know anything about it. K-pop stars, actresses, sorry….
Then, I got invited to the launch of MOONSHOT, a Korean cosmetic brand, brought to Indonesia by @cnfstoreofficial. Apparently, one of the biggest entertainment group in Korea, named YG which also handles Big Bang and other famous K-pop stars, launched this beauty brand in 2014 in Korea. Now, Moonshot is available online @cnfstoreofficial and offline at C&F stores in Grand Indonesia and Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta.
With tagline “Dare to be Extraordinary”, I’m excited to review their PR kit.
MICROFIT CUSHION SPF 50+, PA+++ Claimed to be ultra light with anti-darkening formula, I found this cushion moisturizing and soften my skin without looking too oily. Luckily I got my perfect shade: 201. I love this cushion, just check out my before-after pic (excuse me for different lighting). It really covers my spots well, without no concealer! It is really buildable, I applied two layers on my spots area, and I guess I can just go out without setting with powder. I bring this around for mid-day touch up, too.
JELLY POT Basically, this is a liquid eyeshadow, yes…liquid. Mine is P03 Warm Dress, comes with Pearl texture. This is a fun texture to play with (use fingers not brush), as it looks watery but when applied, it just glides easily. Best part, unlike powder texture, it won’t fall out. And thanks to Color Dispersion Technology, this didn’t crease at all on eyelids. Because it’s also water based, it felt cooling when applied. I love this shade, it looks really natural, even though it comes with pearl texture. This is also buildable, I applied two layers allover my lids to achieve this look. I recommend you to try this, seriously…it’s really good.
LIP FEAT Check out the bullet design, it is different from others! M810 Faint Brick is my given shade, it looks coral on the packaging, but when applied on my lips, it’s more to pinkish orange. It supposed to be matte, but I found it quite moisturizing like a satin lipstick. It’s not drying, and one swipe is enough for the color to show. Even though they claim it’s long lasting…well..it’s not. Need touch-up after eating, but I don’t mind at all. Actually I’m kind of afraid of those long-lasting lipstick that won’t budge even though you already use oil cleanser. So, this is good.
CREAM PAINT LIGHTFIT Why I wasn’t interested in Korean lipsticks? Because most of them usually come in very bright color like red and orange. I changed my mind after trying this. Given to me is shade M117 Hey Rosa (love the shade). Comes in a velvet-matte finish, this is a perfect ‘My Lips But Better’ shade. So light like the name, this can also be used for cheeks. If you want to use it on cheeks, apply before foundation, like I did on this look.
