….. give different kind of roses.

For this Valentine’s Day collection, Diptyque collaborated with Antoinette Poisson, famous illustrators known as creator and restorer of Domino Paper. You see, domino paper aka decorated paper reached their peak in the 18th century and used to cover books, boxes and wall. Antoinette designed two exclusive motifs for Diptyque Rosa Mundi, one floral and one geometrical to wrapped this whole collection. The name Rosa Mundi was inspired by the forbidden love story between King Henry II of England and his mistress, Rosamund Clifford. She was famed for her beauty and often called “Rose of the World”. It was quite a scandalous legend, as she died because King Henry II’s Queen, Eleanor poisoned Rosamund. After she passed away, King Henry II still put roses (known as the flower of love) on her grave.

Back to now …. the aim of this fragrance is to bring back the diversity of scent of roses in bloom. The rose from Damascus, the Damascene, is harvested in May in the mountains of Ispartha in Turkey; the May rose, Centifolia, known as the hundred-petalled-rose due the profusion of the latter, is grown in the Grasse region in France.

There were Rosa Mundi before, which also came in candles, EDT, solid perfume and scented oval. So, the fragrance remains the same this year, except for EAU DOMINOTÉE. Multi-use water, with added geranium and patchouli, that can be worn as perfume, sprayed into the air, or fragranced the fabrics.

This year, DIPTYQUE launches Essences Insensées, the third in the line for La Collection 34 series (respectively launched in 2014 and 2015). This series was inspired by the address of Diptyque’s first boutique.

This wonderful product by DIPTYQUE surely arrived at never better timing.

I was watching tutorial by Wayne Goss (I’m a huge fan, by the way!) and it was a tutorial video on how we can make our foundation works better. Wayne suggested a drop of oil (whatever as long as it’s not lavender) and my beauty fairy seems to hear my wish. Came along DIPTYQUE INFUSED FACE OIL.

I mean, who doesn’t love their luxurious candles with their wonderful scents? The thrill when we open the box and smell the scent coming out was pretty magical, and so it did when I unboxed this on instagram.

The scent didn’t come up like when we opened the candle box. But take a deep look on that bottle!!! To see rose petals floating around inside the bottle was pretty magical for me. It’s so gorgeous!! Very Diptyque, I might say.

And when I opened the luxurious dropper bottle, the fragrance blew my mind. It’s not rose per se, more to powdery iris & almond scent. And being a dry oil, it feels light on skin and absorb really well. A part of L’Art du Soin for the Face, DIPTYQUE INFUSED FACE OIL claimed to boosts radiance, revitalizes & smoothes.

Inspired by Wayne Goss’ tutorial on youtube, I decided to mix this with my regular foundation. Let’s see how it goes!

As you can see, it looked way better when I mixed my foundation with this oil. It feels better on my skin and blended very well too. My skin looks healthy and radiant, I’m very pleased beyond words with the result. I believe my lines look softened and my foundation didn’t set on my lines.

There are many recommended ways to use this oil. We can apply this by its’ own as morning & night time skin routine, use it for face massage or mix it with your regular face cream to boost more radiance.

Just in time to welcome spring, the latest fragrance from DIPTYQUE, EAU DES SENS.

This week me and fellow press were invited to the launch of this adventurous fragrance.

It was a fantastic dinner at SHY, one of the most prestigious fine dining restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia. And right from the moment we stepped in the restaurant, there are literally orange everywhere.

Why orange? Because some of the composition of Diptyque Eau des Sens is orange blossom and bitter orange, alongside with juniper berry, angelica and patchouli.

This genderless fragrance was developed by perfumer Olivier Pescheux and I believe it channel the zest and vibrancy of the citrus fragrance, with the presence of floral.

At the event, we were given out this special card. It looked blank when we received it, and once they sprayed with the fragrance, the humorous three monkeys popped out.

Speak no evil, look no evil and hear no evil! Yup, Eau des Sens is definitely for those who appreciate fragrance that delight the senses. Another unusual fragrance landscape from Diptyque, indeed. Fresh like orange at the first whiff, and lingered to sensuous woody notes.

Diptyque Eau des Sens will be available in Jakarta, Indonesia this very month (March 2016) in Eau de toilette 50ml and 100ml flacons.

Ever heard the phrase “the key to a man’s heart is through his stomach”? Well, the key to a lady’s heart might be inside her bag!

La Clef de mon Cœur est dans mon Sac. That’s how we read the cute pink cards with a set of symbols above.

For its new ROSAVIOLA scent, DIPTYQUE collaborated with fashion designer known for her collection of embroidered book clutches, OLYMPIA LE-TAN.

Just in time for upcoming Valentine’s day, Olympia Le-Tan interpreted Diptyque’s iconic packaging design in embroidered form which reprinted as the label and packaging for a quirky ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect. Expect the box with felt-made kisses, hearts and keys with ribbons. And yeah, they’re pink!

Available in candle, solid perfume and scented oval form, the Rosavolia fragrance is a lady’s treat by itself. Inspired by the mystery of what’s inside a lady’s bag, it’s a predominance of rose, traces of lipstick and the subtle warmth of leather. The rose-violet fragrance also smells powdery, very playful yet romantic, just like the Olympia Le-Tan’s style.

The solid perfume is just too cute. Check out the petite cloth drawstring bag patterned in lipstick, rose, heart and kisses. Such a perfect gift idea for upcoming Valentine’s day, or might as well treat yourself and put these limited edition collection on your wish list.

Check out their video!

Expect something intense & hypnotic with this latest fragrance from DIPTYQUE.

OUD PALAO: when the magic of Laotian Oud mixed with Bulgarian Rose, Indian Cypriol, SriLankan Sandalwood, Somalian Olibanum, Madagascan Vanilla, Spanish Citus, and Indonesian Patchouli. Sounds very complex, doesn’t it? But actually, it is simply Oud, also known as liquid gold. It’s not bright as gold, but it’s dark & mysterious..just like the packaging.

The packaging looks unisex, because it is a genderless fragrance. Legendary perfumer, Fabrice Pellegrin & Diptyque’s own Myriam Badault are the pair behind the creation of this deep fragrance. It took them two years to launch this sensual fragrance. Influenced by the Middle East, when fragrance (read: Oud) is such a huge part of their culture, Oud Palao is somewhat different. It has its’ own personality, like a precious gem.

It started with a strong whiff of Oud, then it dries down to more woody scent. Definitely a fragrance for the charming & the daring.
