EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE AT HARRODS

Invasion of Dior at the uber famous Knightsbridge’s original, Harrods.

From March 15till April 14, 2013, there’ll be mini exhibitions, wonderful window displays which reconstruct Dior’s façade in 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris, 50 seats café which will serve Dior-doodled cupcakes and last but not least exclusive Dior products.

Here are some of the exclusive products that really catch my eyes, from teddy bear, snow ball, and a super fabulous Lady Dior bag with tartan covered handles.

WHEN IN DOUBT, WEAR …

RED.

It’s the color of love, color of passion and the color of Dior. Just look at the latest Lady Dior campaign, starring Marion Cotillard, shot by Jean-Baptiste Mondino. All pale colors, but one striking red bag, enough to make any statements.

Bill Gaytten is responsible for the dress Marion wore at this ad, taken from Resort 2013 collection, just before he handed the reins to Raf Simons. The perfect backdrop for the Resort Collection: The Hamptons. This new ad will make its debut in December issue of print medias, so yes we saw it online first. Yeay!

PLANNING IS EVERYTHING

Jakarta Fashion Week is coming next week, November 3, 2012 to be exact. And I am preparing, mentally and physically to attend those busy week full of industry schmoozing and networking.

As I don’t want to rush like a mad woman before any shows, I already planned the whole outfit for the week. First, I’ll share my shoes collection. Yes, there’s some high heels involved, but I think I’m going to change throughout the day, even though I can practically run in my heels (proven!). So, I’m counting on my wedges and flats to keep me comfortable during the busy week. I’ll keep you posted on the whole outfit.

A GIRL WITH THE GOLDEN TATTOO

This is the perfect chance for us, who always dream about having one, but too scared to do it permanently.

Dior has created tattoos, with the help of jewelry designer Camille Miceli. The real 24 carat golden tattoo, named Dior Grand Bal Golden Tattoos are meant to look like gold earrings, bracelets and rings. We can paste the US$120 temporary tattoos anywhere we want to bring the bling out. After all, it is gold and most probably the most glamorous tattoo I’ve ever seen. As they were produced in limited quantities, you know what to do, right?

THE FAIRYTALE STORY OF A FASHIONABLE PRINCESS

Once upon a fashionable time, somewhere between Paris Fashion Week, there was a fashionable princess from the land of a thousand smiles, seated at most front rows. And this is her story….

Ranked the 5th in the 2009 Forbes’ List of 20 Hottest Young Royals, Sirivannavari Nariratana is the only daughter of Crown Prince Maha Vajralongkorn. Yes, she is the royal granddaughter of Thailand. She plays badminton (a competitive one) and she’s no stranger in Paris Fashion Week, as she is a designer and already presented her collections at the last edition of Paris Fashion Week last year.

Reportedly a loyal customer of Pierre Balmain, she attended five shows at Paris Fashion Week recently. Check out her majesty’s styles. That’s what I called a “Fashionable Princess”.

KEEP THE SPIRIT OF ELEGANCE ALIVE

Even though he passed away in 1957, the spirit of Christian Dior will be constantly alive.

In 1946, Christian Dior founded his fashion house and ever since being the ultimate symbol of elegance, excellence and luxury. Now simply called Dior, the spirit of a visionary designer will be honored by the National Museum of China in Beijing from November 13, 2012 onwards. The major exhibition called “The Esprit Dior” and we can see more of a hundred dresses that epitomize Christian Dior’s revolutionary work which photographed by none other than Patrick Demarchelier and also works by some of the major contemporary Chinese artists. It’s interesting how each of them will give their own vision of the Dior spirit.

BEAUTY SYNCHRONIZED

In the spirit of the Olympics, I wonder what kind of beauty products the female athletes were using, especially those synchronized swimmers. One of the US Olympic duet member, Mariya Koroleva said in an interview, that her hair product is Gelatine. Found more in the kitchen, gelatine is commonly used as a gelling agent in food, mostly for desserts. That explained why their hair stuck like glue to their heads while they were performing. As for mascara, hers is Diorshow that she said “never fails”.
