REVIEW: YVES ROCHER

First of all, congrats for 60th anniversary of Yves Rocher. Do you know that this French beauty brand is using 100% botanicals extracts and has 1100 ingredients of natural ingredients in their portfolio? And lately, they’re continuously developing an eco-design approach, too. So they have been decreasing their consumption of non-raw materials and using recyclable materials for their packaging. Beauty that does good, me likey!

Thanks to C&F Store that sent me this naturally beautiful PR Kit to celebrate the brand’s 60th anniversary. Inside the kit, there are some products that I’ve been using and only one that I’ve not tried before. Let’s break them down one by one, shall we?

CONCENTRATED SHOWER GEL – MANGO CORIANDER

CWhy concentrated? Because you don’t need that much to actually make foams and cleanse your body. They claim that this 100ml bottle will last us for 40 showers. It is pH balanced, preservative and paraben free. Personally, I love the small recyclable plastic bottle, very practical for traveling purpose. This is my second bottle already, and I love how it also made my bathroom smells fruity like mango after I showered.

CONCENTRATED SHAMPOO

CThis concentrated 100ml format will last for 30 shampoos. I love the fact that it is colorant and silicone free. And the fresh scent that long lasting. But I warn you, you might need conditioner afterward, especially if you have medium to long hair. It might give you tangled hair.

RINSING VINEGAR

RThis shall be use at the very last step of your shampooing business. It contains raspberry vinegar (don’t worry it actually smells more like raspberry than ordinary vinegar), known for its’ hair smoothing properties and reducing build-up (from haircare or hairstyling products). I believe this is my third bottle already, I love how it made my hair shinier and smells better longer. Yes, if there’s one vinegar that actually can make you smell good, this is the one!

CLEANSING MICELLAR OIL

If you have no fungal-acne problem, you will love this. It contains Isopropyl Palmitate and Sunflower Seed Oil which noted as Fungal-Acne trigger on skincarisma.com. Other than that, it is actually colorant free, mineral oil free and paraben free. And it contains pure organic chamomile extract, renowned for its soothing, softening and hydrating properties. This silky but non-greasy oil will transform into a milky fluid in contact with water and help to dissolve makeup.

In Indonesia, you can get Yves Rocher’s products in C&F stores or buy online here.

REVIEW: TRILOGY CERTIFIED ORGANIC ROSEHIP OIL

I went to the launch of Trilogy in Jakarta last week, and they claim that this specific product sold every 20 seconds around the world. Is it that good?

First, why did I choose this over two others? Rosehip Oil Antioxidant+ contains Cranberry Seed Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil that might trigger Fungal-Acne. Similar with Rosehip Oil Light Blend, it contains Jojoba Seed Oil and Cranberry Seed Oil. Big no for Fungal-Acne. Meanwhile, the Certified Organic Rosehip Oil contains 100% Rose Canina (Rosehip) Seed Oil, which is totally safe for Fungal-Acne.

If you’ve been reading my blog posts, you’ll know that I did electrocauter to get rid of milias and sebaceous hyperplasia that I had last year. And to get rid of the scars from the treatment, was a challenge. I’ve tried this and that to make the scars from cauterization healed faster, and when I stumbled upon this specific oil, I was hooked. Until now.

You see, Trilogy Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is a 100% pure organic rosehip oil that works not only to prevent skin aging, but also to assist skin renewal and repair. It is also clinically proven to help scars and damage skin. So yeah, no wonder it really worked to help me clear out my cauter scars. For scars, I used this on the very end step of my PM skincare routine.

Bare Faced. Left – not using oil. Right – using oil.

Then, after all the cauter scars were gone, I’m still using it until today. For different purpose, that is. I mixed this with foundation to give me that radiant healthy glow. Because of its’ oil texture, I believe it will blend well with any liquid foundation. Check out the difference when I’m using the oil and not.

Can you tell? When using the oil, skin doesn’t look dead matte. It glows naturally.

By the way, Trilogy is a brand from New Zealand. Come to think of it, this is the first and the only Australian’s skincare product that I purchased. Now you can get them here in Indonesia at some C&F stores (they carry only 15 SKU’s for now). Or you can buy them online, here.

REVIEW: MOONSHOT

My obsession to Korean skincare, doesn’t mean that I know everything about Korean entertainment industry. In the matter of fact, I didn’t know anything about it. K-pop stars, actresses, sorry….

Then, I got invited to the launch of MOONSHOT, a Korean cosmetic brand, brought to Indonesia by @cnfstoreofficial. Apparently, one of the biggest entertainment group in Korea, named YG which also handles Big Bang and other famous K-pop stars, launched this beauty brand in 2014 in Korea. Now, Moonshot is available online @cnfstoreofficial and offline at C&F stores in Grand Indonesia and Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta.

With tagline “Dare to be Extraordinary”, I’m excited to review their PR kit.

MICROFIT CUSHION SPF 50+, PA+++
Claimed to be ultra light with anti-darkening formula, I found this cushion moisturizing and soften my skin without looking too oily. Luckily I got my perfect shade: 201. I love this cushion, just check out my before-after pic (excuse me for different lighting). It really covers my spots well, without no concealer! It is really buildable, I applied two layers on my spots area, and I guess I can just go out without setting with powder. I bring this around for mid-day touch up, too.

JELLY POT
Basically, this is a liquid eyeshadow, yes…liquid. Mine is P03 Warm Dress, comes with Pearl texture. This is a fun texture to play with (use fingers not brush), as it looks watery but when applied, it just glides easily. Best part, unlike powder texture, it won’t fall out. And thanks to Color Dispersion Technology, this didn’t crease at all on eyelids. Because it’s also water based, it felt cooling when applied. I love this shade, it looks really natural, even though it comes with pearl texture. This is also buildable, I applied two layers allover my lids to achieve this look. I recommend you to try this, seriously…it’s really good.

LIP FEAT
Check out the bullet design, it is different from others! M810 Faint Brick is my given shade, it looks coral on the packaging, but when applied on my lips, it’s more to pinkish orange. It supposed to be matte, but I found it quite moisturizing like a satin lipstick. It’s not drying, and one swipe is enough for the color to show. Even though they claim it’s long lasting…well..it’s not. Need touch-up after eating, but I don’t mind at all. Actually I’m kind of afraid of those long-lasting lipstick that won’t budge even though you already use oil cleanser. So, this is good.

CREAM PAINT LIGHTFIT
Why I wasn’t interested in Korean lipsticks? Because most of them usually come in very bright color like red and orange. I changed my mind after trying this. Given to me is shade M117 Hey Rosa (love the shade). Comes in a velvet-matte finish, this is a perfect ‘My Lips But Better’ shade. So light like the name, this can also be used for cheeks. If you want to use it on cheeks, apply before foundation, like I did on this look.
