FINISH WHAT I STARTED (MAKE UP EDITION)

They sure took a long way to be emptied, but as one emptied, time to move on to new beauties.

Here’s my thought of them:

  1. Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek : bought them in HK because of its’ packaging cuteness. The peachy color looks good on cheeks, not shimmering, but it didn’t win me on the long lasting category. Repurchase? I don’t think so.
  2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pencil: bought them in BKK when I visited their salon to fix my brow. I love it, it stayed until I took it off, didn’t smudge when I accidentally rub my eyes (don’t you hate that when it happened?) and a perfect natural shade for my eyebrows. Repurchase? Unfortunately, this is the old version of their eyebrow pencil. But I’m definitely gotta buy the new one.
  3. Smashbox Contour Palette : bought them online. It did come with the small brush which surprisingly did OK contouring. I love how pigmented they are, even though for beginners, it will take a while to get used to blending the three shades right. Repurchase? Maybe.
  4. Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion : bought them in Singapore. My holy grail of eyeshadow primer, which never fail. It has the right consistency of texture (not too liquid or too thick), it gave the matte look and last until I took my eye makeup at night. Repurchase? I had a new one already in my beauty case. Case closed.

DON’T BE A FOOL WHEN IT COMES TO MAKEUP

On this April Fools’ Day, I’m going to share my Holy Grail when it comes to fool-proof makeup.

In my own term, fool-proof means practical yet it stands against Jakarta’s weather (which become more hot and humid these days).

In alphabetical order:
– Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo : as natural as real brows, I hate fake looking brows which created by some pencil.

– Bobbi Brown Concealer : it concealed well without cracking and works magically for that zit coverage.

– Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow : palette of fun, just mix and blend to create any looks I desired.

– Guerlain Meteorites Pearls : for that radiant finish which somehow made my makeup seem more natural.

–  MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation : let me tell you a little secret: once a beauty brand PR from other brand which also carried cosmetics line, bought this without hesitation. Need I say more?

– Maybelline New York Volum’ Express One by One Mascara : the chubby tube and brush at it’s best. No clumps when applied, no smudges while sweating.

– NARS Satin Lip Pencil : it lines, it fills, it doesn’t crack, it stays on.

– The Body Shop All In One Blusher : no need to touch up during day time, as its’ extra fine powder blended well and stay there until you wipe it off.

REST MY CASE

The beauty of cosmetics packaging. The beauty brands are working very hard to boost their sales and one of the factor to achieve that goal is to have a beautiful packaging which will attract many customers, including me.

How many times have you bought something because of its’ packaging? Maybe, you haven’t even read about the reviews yet, but you just fell in love with it you have to buy it asap? The feelings are very mutual here. It happened to me all the time. It’s even crazier if they are limited edition. I am sold. Here are my beautiful packaging collection.

THE BATTLE OF EYEBROWS PENCILS

Boooooo *thumbs down > Unlike many others that rely on Viva Eyebrow Pencil to create that perfect arches, I just don’t get the overrated reviews about it. I tried the brown color which I thought will suit my lighter hair better, but apparently, it’s too brown, it looked fake on me. I wouldn’t dare to try the black one.

Woohooo *thumbs up > Fascinated by the name, I’ve tried Soap & Glory Arch de Triumph (cute name, right?). It has double end, one to shape your brows, and the other one is a highlighter to be smudge on the brows’ bone. The texture of the pencil contains wax-like, so it really shaped the brows easily, and the highlighter is very easy to blend because of its’ creamy texture. The color is perfect, it looks natural.

Yeaaayyyy *all fingers up > My newest darling, Anastasia Beverly Hills. Love the automatic pencil that doesn’t require sharpening. Love the texture as it glides smoothly on the brows, and the color (mine #11) suits perfectly to my hair color. So this is my champion.

THINGS I DID FOR BROWS

Went to Bangkok and surprised to see Anastasia Beverly Hills. Made famous by Anastasia Soare, known as Queen of Arches, I can’t be more than excited to try the famous Brow Treatment. It cost 800Bahts, a nice and very clean salon inside a big mall in Central Ladprao. See how my eyebrows looks beautifully crafted?
