Need I say more?

Inspired by Pierre Hardy Summer 2013 shoes collection, NARS will release NARS Pierre Hardy Collection.

Six nail polish duos (they will be sold in pair), and two blushes (not shown in the above picture) will be available online at on May 1.

That’s right. For those who believes in your zodiac that much, you’re proud to show it to the world on your shoes, by walking in them. And none other than Charlotte Olympia came up with this awesome idea, mixing suede slippers with our own star sign. Embellished with Swarovski crystals and handmade for each astrological sign, this very personalized shoes are definitely on my next shoes wish list.

Being a proud Leo myself (renowned for our sunny & outgoing personalities, ehm!), check out the close up of the lion embellishment. So fierce & fabulous. Apparently those “Put Yourself in Someone Else’s Shoes” idioms will not be applied, unless you’re in the same sign. The collection is already available in net-a-porter.

The master of cheerful prints, Lilly Pulitzer passed away yesterday at the age of 81.

It all started when she was just trying to disguise juice stains from her own dress from selling lemonade from her first husband’s orchards. So, she made a shift dress out of colorful shower curtains. The rest is history, when first lady Jackie Kennedy (eventually, her former classmate) was photographed for Life Magazine wearing one of Lilly’s design.

Even though she retired 30 years ago from her own label, her design team continues to paint colorful prints. Lilly Pulitzer’s last collaboration is with Estee Lauder for the Spring Summer 2013 collection and with Swarovski Elements for girls’ dresses.

Asian…rejoice. The latest products from Yves Saint Laurent have been especially created for us.

Who doesn’t love YSL ‘Magic Pen’ Touche Éclat? Reportedly sold one every 10 seconds around the world, this little gold stick has been a favorite among beauty addicts since its launch in 1991. Well, good news for those who want more of this highlighter in different texture. Now, it comes with the foundation and compact. Le Teint Touche Éclat UV & Compact will help us who live in this crazy hot and humid weather, to (literally) stop melting and stay radiant plus flawless all day. Yup, these lightweight foundation and ultra soft compact foundation are specially developed by YSL for Asian Complexion. Thanks YSL to keep us in your mind. Hold your horses, as these fabulous duo will reach Jakarta’s store sometime next month.

It’s just too hot here. And as a dark colors devotee, I surrender.

Suddenly all my blacks and greys seem too harsh for this weather, and it’s time to hibernate. Now that pastel colors are literally everywhere, from high street to high end brands, I hope I’ll find my love affair with the goody goody colors.

Not that I hate pastel colors. I love looking at them, I just think they’re too sweet for my liking. Truly, I can’t imagine looking at myself in the mirror wearing pastel. But clicking through J.Crew site, I found pastels even me can’t resist to wear. Eyelet capri pants, scalloped sling back flats, gingham shirt, color block clutch…these are the kind of pastel that I wouldn’t mind seeing  myself in. Now I’m convinced to make that transition.

April Edition.

New post on what’s happening and soon to come for beauty addicts. Updates from the brands’ own Facebook Page.

  • Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick is finally reach Indonesian’ shores. In their FB pages, reportedly it costs Rp 80.000 each. I’m going to get them soon, as I love their previous ColorStay Lipstick.
  • If you’re concern about eyebrows (like me), you don’t want to miss Brow Show from Make Up For Ever. For Rp 100.000, you’ll have your eyebrows fixed and shaped by the Brow Expert, Emma Andalusia & Irene Sherly.
  • Avid brush collector? Go to The Body Shop stores as they have 15% off on all their cruelty free brushes for every purchase of makeup products.

When in doubt, and yes when you’re having one of those bad hair days, wear headband.

It’s one of the Spring 2013 trend, and a look that’s super easy to pull of by anyone. But how on earth can we differ ourselves from those elementary school girls?

  • First: slim is way better than wide. Blair Waldorf’s style is over, people.
  • Embellishments such as crystals, pearls, studs will put an adult stamp on your look.
  • Think of your hair style. Don’t just brush your hair, swept them up (like Olivia’s hairstylist did) or put a flick on the ends (like Kerry’s hairstylist did).
  • Dress your age, dear. Go for more structured ensemble, and stick to solid (not pastel) colors.

If you feel that your usual eye cream was getting to slow to show that luminous eyes you’ve been eyeing for, afraid not. All you need is a booster!

Last week, I was invited to the launch event of the very first eye serum from Estee Lauder, named Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion at Seibu Premium Lounge, Grand Indonesia, Jakarta. It looks and sounds familiar because it is the new formulated Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, but for eyes. Even the packaging looks similar like its predecessor.

At the event, Erfan Haryando, Communication Executives Estee Lauder Indonesia, explained to fellow medias and bloggers about the clever eyes serum which will reach Indonesia’s counters by May 2013. “According to scientific research from Estee Lauder, our delicate eyes area is 40% more thin and five times more porous than facial skin. That’s why they are particularly vulnerable to environmental assaults, including ozone that caused DNA damage.” The increase of ozone pollution, especially for us who live in urban jungle, is getting more serious and might lead to visible signs of premature aging. Since eyes are more vulnerable, they need more tender love and care in a serum texture, which are well known for fast penetration.

Therefore, Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion contains three powerful and high performance technologies:

– Anti-pollution technology that continuously repairing the appearance of damage to eyes area which caused by environmental assaults.

– Exclusive Chronolux Technology that support the natural synchronization of skin’s repair around the eye area at exactly the right time.

– A high concentration of soothing anti-irritants, a proprietary blend of antioxidants and high levels of proven Hyaluronic Acid which work together to repair and protect, also reduce the look of dark circles, puffiness and dryness around the eyes.

Erfan also explained, that just like face serum which needs layering with moisturizer on top, this eye serum will add more benefits to your usual eye cream. And… lucky me to get the first hand of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion before the press event, so I’ve got the chance to try it a week before. I also shared my testimonial with fellow medias and bloggers at the event. My verdict? It is a serum, so it’s very light in texture and scentless. I love that it comes in a pump packaging, very practical and less messy. Instantly absorbed, so I can add extra top layer of my usual eye cream immediately. The feeling is refreshing and hydrating, and after a week of using it twice a day (yes, you can use it in the morning too-despite its’ name), my under eyes area feel smooth and less dry, with no puffiness in sight when I wake up the next morning. I might say this is a perfect base/primer for under eyes concealer too as it seems to work well with creamy concealer (that cracked terribly for not having enough moisture). It filled the fine lines pretty good, so it acted like a filler without the needle for me. And I am positive it might reduce my dark circles sometime very soon (I’ll keep you posted). Overall, let me put it this way, if you’re using serum for the whole face, why not your eyes?

On this April Fools’ Day, I’m going to share my Holy Grail when it comes to fool-proof makeup.

In my own term, fool-proof means practical yet it stands against Jakarta’s weather (which become more hot and humid these days).

In alphabetical order:
– Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo : as natural as real brows, I hate fake looking brows which created by some pencil.

– Bobbi Brown Concealer : it concealed well without cracking and works magically for that zit coverage.

– Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow : palette of fun, just mix and blend to create any looks I desired.

– Guerlain Meteorites Pearls : for that radiant finish which somehow made my makeup seem more natural.

–  MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation : let me tell you a little secret: once a beauty brand PR from other brand which also carried cosmetics line, bought this without hesitation. Need I say more?

– Maybelline New York Volum’ Express One by One Mascara : the chubby tube and brush at it’s best. No clumps when applied, no smudges while sweating.

– NARS Satin Lip Pencil : it lines, it fills, it doesn’t crack, it stays on.

– The Body Shop All In One Blusher : no need to touch up during day time, as its’ extra fine powder blended well and stay there until you wipe it off.
